  1. Depends on what they mean by "done". They might have just passed it to their finance department for payment. In my experience, companies are usually rather slower at processing refunds than they are when charging you! I'd give it five working days and, if it hasn't appeared by then, chase it up. Unless you're up against your credit limit or the delay straddles a credit card statement date, it makes no odds.
  2. Yep, and you're right: it doesn't bother me.
  3. Just one minor issue I should have mentioned: in strong sunlight with the roof down, I can now see a perfect reflection of my gear selector in my rear view mirror via the glass wind deflector!
  4. Aah...fair enough, not just me being thick then!
  5. Eh? No idea what you mean... Taxi to the home for the hard of thinking for Daniel...😨
  6. I recently installed a glass wind deflector in place of the mesh item. There might be a slight increase in wind noise, but nothing troublesome and no noticable buffeting. No rattles either. There is a small cutout at the base of the glass, as you can see in the photo below. I wonder if this is designed to allow some air through, to prevent, or at least minimise, the effects described by @Greenman above?
  7. That's certainly a good deal. I take it you were a new customer for that quote. I'm impressed that my renewal quote is a very reasonable 6% increase over last year and I wouldn't bother to shop around in such circumstances.
  8. Just got my renewal quote from Saga for the Boxster: £257 for full comprehensive, SDP use only, maximum NCD, 5k miles limited, locked garage when not in use. That's a £16 increase over last year. In line with the new regulations, Saga has quoted last year's premium in the renewal letter. I'll live with that. (Apologies from a rural wrinkly to you young urbanites, don't mean to rub your nose in it.)
  9. I had a similar experience with More Than last year when I sold the F-Type convertible after two months and bought my 981. The premium for the Jaguar was around £230. The quote to change to the Boxster for the remaining ten months was an ADDITIONAL £380!!! Needless to remark, I cancelled the policy and took the hit, then insured the Boxster with Saga for £230. Their business model seems to be something along the lines of "Lure 'em in with cheap quotes for new customers, then gouge their eyes out once you've got 'em." Nice...😬
  10. Thanks, Eddie, I'm looking forward to getting it tomorrow. We can compare on the 30th. ☺ I'd really like to find a small "P O R S C H E" logo for it, similar to the one on base of the rear window of my 987, either black or translucent grey. Took a look on fleabay, but no joy. Any ideas?
  11. Very nice job, Eddie. You could go into business offering to convert mesh wind deflectors to perspex. 👍 I solved the same problem for myself yesterday by expertly prising apart my PayPal account and carefully extracting a sum of money for @JohnSyn. 😆
  12. Prime of life, then 😊
  13. I'm a mere 56, I'll have you know!
  14. Just got our renewal quote for our MINI from Saga. £154 fully comprehensive, 5k mileage limit, SDP use only, garaged when not in use. That's a whole £1 cheaper than last year. Needless to remark, I cheerfully accepted. Being a bit of a crumbly has some benefits! The Boxster renewal is due in May, also currently with Saga.
  15. Thanks for the reminder, @boxsternoob56. IMHO, 2 and 3 above definitely fall into the "nanny state" category. 1, however, is genuinely helpful and will save me rummaging through my files to check what the prior year's premium was (if I can't remember, although I usually can). Both our motor policies (with Saga) are due for renewal in the next couple of months, so I look forward to seeing the renewal notices. P.S. I'm not averse to paying a sensible increase in premium, nor am I desperate to get the absolutely lowest premium. I just don't like it when they take the p*ss.
