Carlie Howden
Good afternoon everyone, Really pleased to be your new Sponsor on BoXa.net. Bit about A-Plan, A-Plan Insurance have been trading now for over 50 Years and we have over 65 branches throughout the UK and growing! My office is based in Bletchley, Milton Keynes and the BoXa.net special facility is only through this office. Our success over the years has been due to the focus on Customer Service that we put first. We will try to make your experience of buying insurance and using the policy if you do have a claim be a very smooth, personal and professional. All of my team are enthusiastic and qualified by the Chartered Insurance Institute. We all have great knowledge and a passion for Boxsters and all cars for that matter! We have a specialist policy available for drivers over the age of 21. We can accept almost all modifications with the exception of NOS! We have policies for all Boxsters but we have very special rates if your Boxster is a 2nd car and not the everyday driver. Bit about me: I want to be involved with the Club and hopefully speak to you all when your boxster insurance comes due. I will do my very best to give you all a great policy with a great price. I'm sure there will be ones that we don't get but I will always do my very best! I want you all to feel free to contact me for quotes or any insurance questions you may have. I would like to get to know you all and hopefully come along to any meets you organise - That's if I am invited! The office number is 01635 874646 and my email is thatcham@aplan.co.uk. I prefer to deal on the phone or face to face if your passing, but feel free to email me too. Look out for out Advert on the site soon and no doubt I will saturate the forum with my phone number and details! Carlie Howden
welcome to the forum, plenty of questions im sure as people renewals come up...question; is all the insurance stuff just guided by post code? how much weight in terms of % does the post code carry towards the premium?Hi, the postcode is a rating factor with all underwriters and insurers, with most of the insurers there are about many rating factors such as postcode, age, occupation, length of ownership, claims and convictions etc, what interesting on the post codes it often can be the very affluent areas that have as higher rate as some of the more expected areas as one £100k car theft can be as damaging as many £2k thefts. I used to live in Luton, and rates were high there as Personal Injury claims frequency was very high.So yes, although the post code can play a big part, it's the overall "risk" which gives the premium.Steve

2ndyouth
Really useful having a "tame" insurance chappie on the site.We currently use Admiral multicar which is really cheap but, the customer service!!!We have four cars on the policy (2011 BMW 730d, 2012 Discovery HSE, 2012 Mini Cooper and our 2009 2.9 Boxster), and it's due for renewal in March so I'll give you a call.An open question if I may regarding limited mileage policies which may be of interest to many readers. I understand that insurers see mileage as an indication of exposure to risk but, does the mileage have to be proportionate to the number of months the policy has been held? For example, we bought the Discovery in March and expect to do less than 10,000 miles per year. However, after 7months, the car has travelled 6500 miles which included the mega family tour of Italy in the summer, although by next March the total will be less than the 10,000 given in the policy. If I have an accident today though can the insurer claim that I have exceeded the agreed mileage and therefore decline to cover the loss? These sort of question often remain unasked until it's too late. Mr Kipling
Can I just give a personal reference to Lee Burkinell at A Plan, I was due to collect the 911 and I needed insurance, my local guy a friend of 30 years quoted £1300 for me and best mate named driver. i saw A Plan's banner on this site and emailed for a quote, Lee responded quickly and was very friendly and helpful, he called back and quoted £460 fully comp for us both. added a couple of extras ( removed the no claims excess of £350 for about £30 and had the add 25% of the value of your car if written off for about £40 )Painless experience and totally professional would not hesitate to reccommend, got a 2nd quote for comparative purposes and it came in at £650.My BMW diesel costs £550 ffs! Cover emailed to me in case plod wanted to spoil my party before the hard copy arrived in the post.1st class professional service offering bespoke insurance tailored to your needs, one thing, I thought Lee owned the company he was that professional.Steve watch out he's gunning for your job! Carlie Howden
Firstly thanks very much for the comments about Lee, it's a team of 10 and I must say in the 10 years I have ran the office, my current team are the best I have had. I will pass your comments on.On the limited mileage side of things, it's the total amount of miles over the 12 months. My Boxster has 7000 limited miles and I do most of those in 4 months of the year and the same on my Range Rover. It doesn't matter if you did 95% of the select miles in the first 2 months. The only time the insurers may ask questions would be if this was the only car you had accsess to. They would ask what were you going to be driving for the rest of the year. I hope this helps a little, but feel free to pick up the phone to me any time or drop me an email.01908 271771steve.marsh@aplan.co.uk
