Jello
After a fiasco with admiral who refused to insure my 986s when I informed them about the under-drive pulley mod that I'm about to do iive managed I cancel the policy and hence I'm looking for a new insurer, preferably one who will allow for a couple of track days a year and will cover the mods that I'm looking to do.My 525d is also coming up so I'll probably insure both with the same firm. This site is sponsored by several firms but I'd like to know who you guys are with and/or who you would recommend? spyderman8
Manning. But they're not cheap.
spyderman8
The new Porsche Club insurance will only insure you for PCGB-run events.
r1flyguy
Try both the site sponsorsI think they both insure with trackday cover with approved TD organisers, You get a list of tracks and organisers your covered with in the policy documents.Last time I insured with Bridle, they included TD cover as above, not sure about A-Plan though
Guest twinspark
Just be aware that many insurers won't cover Castle Combe...I took out a separate policy with Moris, as I didn't want to blur the lines between road and track cover.Claims with Moris don't need declaring when you renew your road policy. Jello
Many thanks guys. I'm always impressed at just how helpful you all are! I'll give your suggestions a try and will report on the findings.
Guest twinspark
The site sponsors won't cover Combe, which is a problem for me as it's my local 'proper' track, aside from Llandow. Becoming an increasing issue, as almost nobody will cover it due to the number of accidents which happen at Quarry.Moris were fantastic, though - and will even cover the charity days I do - these don't come under the ATDO umbrella, which is also an issue for many insurers. Eliaevagora
Try Sky Insurance too. Well known to car modders as the go to people for insurance quotes.
Jello
I tried Mannings, £799 as my car is on the drive and doesn't fit in the garage (which was converted to an office) incidentally it was £350 in the garage.Apparently I live in a bad area! although this is probably due to the M20 running through my postcode... (I can smell the exhaust from my garden!)Let's see what the others come back with...
Purdie
Manning for me too - includes unlimited Track Days in UK and Europe so long as organiser is member of ATDO. I did hear that they are discontinuing the European days for new policies but cannot confirm. Was previously wit Competition Car Insurance who also offered cover included. I pre-advised that I wanted to modify the air inlet etc and this was noted on the policy. They cover 5 trackdays a year from the list of Aviva approved organisers, two of which can be European then you pay extra if you need more (i wish). Goldtrack & motorsport Vision are in the named approved organisers. Take your point that a charity organised one might not qualify though.
spyderman8
I've heard the same about Manning no longer covering track days in Europe.
Jello
Went with bridle who came in at a £499 with 5 track days included. Seemed a perfect fit for me and I'm happy with the price which is the same as Admiral.Once again, thanks for your responses.
