I think they're trying it on this year, more than most.

Couple of months back I reversed out into the neighbours car, I only thought I had grazed the back bumper but by the size of the repair qoute I wrote off his fr#gging piece of cr@p Audi.
Since then Boxster insurance throughout the UK has doubled, sorry. :suicide_anim:

I had a quote at the end of May from one company (Renew). Called them back in June to take the policy out, as I'd not found anything cheaper and they informed me the price had dropped. I asked why, the guy said the price changes on a month by month basis and for me, it had dropped. I wasn't going to argue. :)

working in the insurance industry (as well as other financial bits) I can tell you that the majority of insurers (buildings, contents, breakdown, car etc) run their business on the basis that they give big introductory discounts in the first year knowing that most people dont shop around every year...
the business model will eventually fail of you ask me....and stinks anyway,,,why they dont look after the customers already with them I never understand (on the basis it costs more to attract a new one than keep an existing one).
If everyone shopped around I am sure they couldnt afford to continualy give the same initial premium basis and we'd all end up paying something in between their intro and ongoing prices...
In life the cheapest isnt the best, nor is the most expensive.... :suicide_anim:

We had a 3 car policy with Admiral, and they hiked the price up considerably this year - about £600 in all and we had no changes to our circumstances.
I did some sleuthing, and got my Boxster and Fiat Coupe down (they were the cheapest of anyone for the Box individually, and for the Coupe, they weren't bad, so I kept both as they allow a no claims discount on both cars, where in most cases it would only apply to one).
We had my GF's car on the policy though, and this year they were really uncompetitive on hers, so we went elsewhere for car number 3!
Seemed an industry wide price hike.

ecarinsurance just tried to nearly double our premium on the VXR8 and BMW325. £650 (pro-rata) for the pair last year, and they wanted £1217 this year - (now 7 years since the last claim and 4 years since the last conviction).
Admiral offered a multicar policy for £870, but Morethan are covering the VXR8 for £450 (not bad for G20). It gives me plenty to play with for the BMW or I'll just chop and change with the Ka policy as I need to use those vehicles.
