  1. A common fault this one but easy to fix just a bit time consuming. Took me 2 hours but did it for just £60. Video guide below:
  2. Thanks guys, glad it could be of some use.
  3. My latest guide shows you how I changed the coolant on my 986 Boxster. I also flushed it with de-ionised water.
  4. My step by step guide to replacing the automatic transmission / gearbox fluid and filter in a Porsche Boxster 986. Neil Road-and-Race.co.uk Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/roadandracetv Twitter: @RoadandRaceTV Facebook.com/RoadandRaceTV Instagram: Roadandracetv
  5. @pingping010101 Apologies for the delay getting back to you. Sure, share away.
  6. My updated guide to rebuilding Boxster Brembo brake calipers is here:
  7. Keep the car running smoothly and potentially get back some lost performance by cleaning the Throttle Body and Mass Air Flow sensor The throttle body controls air flow into the engine and will open and close when you press or release the accelerator pedal. The MAF or Mass Air Flow sensor is a device that measures the density of the air coming into the engine from the air intake. This data is used by the car’s computer to help correctly control engine fuelling. Over time these will get dirty so if you think your car is running a bit sluggish or worse stalling or in limp mode then clean
  8. I don't own a pressure washer and, to be honest, they say it's safe but it still makes me a bit uneasy. I hand cleaned the Boxster engine bay in about 30 minutes and here's a video of the results and how I did it.
  9. @sfllowie@googlemail.com Engine bay cleaning video is now finished
  10. The anti roll bar or sway bar bush, as it is also called, is simply a piece of rubber that holds the bar in place. Over time this will wear our so if you hear a knocking from the front or rear of the car it could be that the bushes need replacing. My step by step video guide is here:
  11. Thanks for the kind words. Will try to do the engine bay video this week, have the two part sway bar videos to do first but I really want to get that engine bay clean!
  12. Eagle eyed viewers may have noticed the oil leak when I replaced my spark plugs and ignition coils a few episodes ago. This is because the rubber o-rings that seal the coil tubes fail over time and allow oil to pass through. This guide steps you through how to remove the tubes without having to buy the special tool and replace the seals. Car used Porsche Boxster S 2001 986 7” bolt – part no. 333 from B&Q (UK) Coil tubes - (996 105 325 52) Coil sleeve O-ring (rear) - (999.707.343.40) Coil sleeve O-rings (front) - (999.707.215
  13. The air filter cleans the air before it goes into the engine and the cabin filter cleans the air before it enters the car. Both will eventually get clogged up with dirt so replace them at least every year. A clogged air filter can restrict air flow into the engine and thus reduce power. My step by step guide is here:
