  1. I would recommend using the Porsche oem bushes, 4 needed in total about £30 all in👍
  2. I went with M&S bank loan, much cheaper than any finance I found 👍
  3. I think considering how bad they were they have come out well. I have only ever repainted calipers that have been originally red so I’ve never had to etch primer. I tend to put a coat of lacquer over even if the red paint I’ve used says you don’t need it. I find they stay glossier for longer with the extra coat of lacquer. You haven’t got to go crazy, just a couple of light coats will do it 👍
  4. Hi there Its normally grease/silicone that causes these types of problems. I think I sand the problem spots and put a bit of primer on them. Give them a light sand again and dust some red over the freshly primed spots. The primer should help stop the reaction 👍
  5. I ve got a few chips to do on mine, I’m thinking about using the Dr Colour chip. I used on my last seal grey Boxster and it worked very well. Ive got a Dr Colour chip kit here, ready to use on my friends Altas Grey Cayman. I may try a bit at the weekend but his car needs some major polishing first👍
  6. Looks good to me, that’s about as good as you get touching in stone chips 🍟
  7. I would imagine this tool would work better with some of the all in one touch ups off eBay. Their formulas don’t require the extra clear coat/lacquer 👍
  8. Great guide and doesn’t it look a lot better. These mudflaps seem to take a beating, I think I’ve got one that could do with replacement 👍
  9. I never got into reprogramming the clocks but I did find someone who thought they could do. I actually changed my car about a month after completion but I enjoyed the 996 clocks and having all the gauges working 👍
  10. You maybe lucky and just plugging into the cd changer may work. I can’t imagine you would need it programming but nothing would surprise me with Porsche electronics?
  11. I was suffering a bit from a neighbours cat using my Boxster as an expensive cat basket. Never really had any issues before but I’ve heard people on here having problems. I looked at my options and they are quite limited and also I doubt half of them don’t work. But there’s hope!!!!! These work!!! Its only been 3 days but the neighbors cat hasn’t been anywhere near our house let alone the car. Its still early days but the cat would of normally be on my car by now ??

    Roof cleaning

Try the Autoglym kit first and maybe a soft nail brush on the stubborn bits. If it is still a bit green try V-Fix mound and mildue remover, about £10 off eBay. The VFix really worked on some stubborn bits on my 987?
  13. Same question I would be asking just about a painted wheel. Would it fully refurbished or a cheeky paint blow in? Either way I think your £700 would go a long way covering any of these little mishaps that probably won’t happen ?
  14. Sounds expensive but worth while for the tyres, I would be enquiring what the alloy wheel part covered. Most of them just send a smart repairman who sprays silver paint on your diamond cut wheel and classes it as a repair. If it does cover you to have your wheel professionally recut then it’s definitely worth it. Im not sure what OPC insurance covers as they are all different but definitely worth asking exactly what your covered for ?
  15. Great loved it ? I warmed the rubber couplers for the plenum up in a bucket of warm water, made them stretch on know problem. Great work looking forward to part 3?
  16. Hi there Great video, really enjoyed it and looking forward to the next one's! I did the plenum/throttle body upgrade on my 986s and was very pleased with the results ? I wasn't brave enough for the 987 airbox swap though ?
  17. As far as I know you have to brake the vents to remove them with out removing the dash. I ve read a how to before and it's not as scary as it sounds, the new vents simply snap back in. But I would definitely check they are broken before you resort to swapping them ?
  18. Loving the new car, Seal Grey is a great colour although I'm very biased ? The full leather trim is a real bonus too, glad you are all sorted again ?
  19. Both covers off and a normal spanner! Awkward to get to but easy to remove and refit?
  20. Hi there I removed top and cover behind the seat, if you look through from the car its shoulder height. I bought a crows foot spanner but never used it as a normal spanner easily loosened it up. As for the wiring I can't help I just used some black wire I had lying about. A bit of a fiddley job but not difficult and it's great seeing all the gauges working ?
  21. Great post! Really enjoyed it and covers some very valid information for potential buyers ?
  22. Hi Rag

Jumped in my car again this morning and the lumpy almost cutting out tick over is back.

I haven't had chance to have a look yet as I was heading out.

Do you think I've still got an air leak on the airbox mod? Seems to play up when it's warm, as if there could be heat soak in the silicon elbows causing a bad seal.

Ive used it all day last Sunday and several times in the week although Thursday night it felt a little unstable.

I need to get to the bottom of this as I need a car that is useable.

    Any tips or ideas.....

    Thanks in advance
