  1. Marks and spencer were doing the lowest rate around when I financed the bike a few months back.
  2. I took the PCP and paid it off a 6 weeks later. This was discussed beforehand during negotiations and indeed was suggested to me as a work around as my funds would not be available for 6 weeks. Part of the agreement was any charges incurred would be taken into account in the deal agreed which it was. This allowed me to get a new 718 they had just brought into stock rather than placing an order. The car was above my budget, I did negotiate a substantial discount though.
  3. I take it you have home start? Might as well be up front, gives them a reference point and don't think it will matter tbh.
  4. AA/RAC? Have a cuppa, go back out and methodically go back over everything you did. Look around the area, perhaps you have dislodged something nearby whilst you were working on the car.
  5. Any codes showing? Could try disconnecting the battery for 5 mins as a reset.
  6. Have you made sure everything is connected back up? Vacuum leak? Did you clean the MAF?
  7. I'm afraid the only answer to this is to put in the leg, or ear work. Comparison sites will give you a starting point. However there are so many variables in insurance that no one else's quote will be applicable to you. Re specialists, I have never had a decent quote from one, tried 2 for my 718 and they were absurd, but they are very competitive for some. I'd find the best quote from a comparison site, then ring the specialists to try and beat/match it.
  8. They went up a bit on renewal for me, 718 and DD. However neither other multi-car companies, or trying to insure the 2 cars separately, could get near them again. Think I'm circa £500 for the two, 718 F/C, mini TPFT.
  9. Just noticed your avatar, your partner looks lovely.😎
  10. Try aviva, admiral etc. I'm about £550pa for the 718 f/c and a mini tpft with aviva, 55. GF down as a driver on both, bit younger than me.
  11. Cougars come at a premium mate.😀 Might be worth calling around a bit, see if you can get an explanation. Does your partner have a car also? If so try multi car insurance.
  12. I'm in the process of financing a new bike, Marks and Spencer loans at 2.8%. Previous loan was with Sainsburys at 3.1% There are some great rates at the moment.
  13. On PCP, up the miles pa. Yes your repayment a month goes up, final payment drops drastically.
  14. I must have had multiple mothers then.........
  15. Nope, a couple within £20-30 or so of renewal. I've never had a decent quote from specialist insurers through a car forum. Used to watch guys on MR2ROC, younger, less no claims, car modded etc get quotes far less than me, and no I don't live in a dodgy area.😉
  16. I could not get mine down at all, called them about renewal and zero movement on price, never had that before. After an afternoon getting quotes from all the multi car insurers, then getting quotes for insuring the cars separately, my renewal quote is my best option.
  17. Quoted me almost double my best quote.
  18. It will be correct lol, I could not believe it was only costing £48 a year more for a Porsche.
  19. Cost me less than £4 a month to change from the GT86 to the Boxster on my Aviva multi car policy with my mini DD. When I bought the mini and changed to Aviva I was paying less for it and the GT86 than I had been paying more than for the GT86 alone.
  20. Should leave enough beer tokens to attend the Scottish scramble then.😉
