  1. Good point Ali. I've alternated between admiral and Egg over the last few years, mainly due to the renewal quote always being higher than the previous year. It pays to switch companies since they make their money from the people who don't! I always make sure to cancel my direct debit at the bank too since they'll keep taking it if you don't

    Under 25 and insured?

I think you just have to bite the bullet and pay it. I sold my car on thursday to a 24 year old and after trying all the cheapest companies, he still ended up paying over 2000. I bought mine when I was 32 and it was 650 to insure with Egg and when I wanted to put my wife (24) on it l;ast year I had to change to Admiral and pay 950 (which shows it's cheaper if you can get someone older to put you on their policy. 10 years ago I bought an MR2 turbo and I was 1800 a year to insure that so not much has changed price wise in that time.

    Insurance Nightmare

Another rec for them. Used them last year, but got a better deal from Admiral this year. Tesco? They have some good things written about them .... Likewise, I've just changed to Admiral and I've previously used them a few times over the years. I was with Adrian flux and I got a good deal, but they wouldn't cover my wife when she passed her test. Both of us are insured for £1K and she's 24 and just passed her test and I drive like an idiot. Pretty reasonable I reckon, all things considered PS. Cancelling my Adrian Flux insurance after 5 weeks cost me over £300

    HOW MUCH!!!

That's the problem I think. Not having the garage. I got 7 tickets in 4 days until I could get a permit. I decided to leave it at Edinburgh Airport while I'm away this time- hopefully it'll be ok there! ← 7 tickets!!!!!! They have just opened a new parking b*st*rd centre in the New Town, one friendly guy said watch out as they are upping their targets and hiring new staff!!!! I'm sure they are only allowed one a day! Got to change my permit again. Once for the GT3, once for the Box back and another time to put my reg back on the car!!!!! ← They gave me a ticket for not having a permit, then moving it and parking again (even though I put the ticket back on the screen) then for having a different number on my tax disk from my private reg, again for parking in the pay zone (right next to residents parking- I didn't know!)...... I caught one of the b*st*rds who admitted to giving me 3 himself and said they had asked for it to be removed even though it was obvious I was using it every day. 7 bloody tickets in 4 days. The feker told me there are 80 of them operating in the area- I'll bet we don't have that many coppers though! Lousy tw*ts

  7. I was quite happy with my egg motor policy which was £650 fully comp. Now that I've moved to Edinburgh it's over a grand!!! That's nuts. More than 50% increase
