Recommendation?

Recommended Posts

Morning all - can anyone recommend an insurance company to cover a 32 year old male on a 'S'. Can't get a quote below £1,000 at the moment!!

Sainsbury's bank were good for me and I've heard others mention them as well - eventually went with Performance Cars / Mayfair.

If there are no skeletons in your closet and you don't live in a v dodgy area I would think you should easily be able to get under £1K. If you haven't done so already buy yourself a performance car related magazine and go through all the ads in the back.

Try Elephant and Adrian Flux, they both came in at under a grand. But only if I payed in full, not monthly.

I went to admiral directly who own elephant, bell and some others. They gave me the best price. Again saved a fortune by paying in one go.

31 London fully comp and parked on the street, but with full no claims. £750.00

Elephant just quoted me 720 for an S, and that's without the missus on the policy (which usually drops it 100-200 quid). I'm 29.

(5yrs ncb, off-street parking, 0 points!)

I have to say that Admiral has always worked out best for me. I have just renewed mine, I'm 31, living in Reading Berkshire, full no claims, parked just off the street and no previous claims etc..... £570! Quite pleased with that for a change - it was around £1000 last year!

Admiral have been good to me too - They quoted me £1035 for renewal this year, which isn't bad for a 22 year old with 3 years NCB. Couldn't go with them though as they wouldn't insure me in Europe fully comp to due to my age and insurance group of the car. So ended up paying £250 more with Norwich Union (via Adrian Flux) for the cover over Le Mans week - Ouch!

Try A Plan.

Ask for Darren Nagle on 01635 874 646; and say Sean Foo with the Boxster RS60 sent you.

I had a look at confused and no insyrance co would even quote me. 29, 2years ncb, garage parked, central london.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

I hate ins companies...

Confused is shyate. I was playing with quotes and admiral quoted me £940 with 3 years no claims and 3 points for speeding on a motorway. Same stats into Confused and Admiral come up (still cheapest) at £1450.

When i do renew i wont be wasting my time with these comparison sites...

A Manning Ltd have a specialist Porsche Policy with Allianz Cornhill which is very good value and does a few trackdays.... Had great service from them and a competitive price...

26, 5 yr NCB, off street parking, 7k miles comes to under £700 with Greenlight. They are a specialist insurer for performance/modified cars. The will only do Boxsters out of the Porsche range and they limit the value to £30k. They were about £400 cheaper than anything through confused.
