Insurance Gone F**king Mad

Recommended Posts

Aviva £1218 :sad01_anim: and that includes 2 months FREE :rolleyes_anim:

Aviva quoted me just under £1000 - Im 42 full NCD, limited miles policy and car garaged over night. Its second car as have a company car with private use ( my negatives are 3 points speeding and a minor bump in company car 3 years ago).

After phoning round cheapest I got was with Endsleigh for £600 and its an AVIVA policy, hopefully cheaper next year as its over 10 years old and can get some of the classic/cherished policies :-)

Ok so it isn't a Boxster this time around but Italy cannot be beaten:

Third party: 1007 Euro's

Fire & Theft : 1859 Euros

Fault: 1576 Euros

Glass/natural events/"Sociopolitical events" : 1203 Euros (single package)

So what would be a UK fully comp policy is 4447 euros with full ncb for both of us.

then add on the (optionals package and suicide_anim.gif )

So all I seem to be doing at the moment is trying to find reasonable insurance quotes and we are well over the on line quote maximals!!!!! so I have to talk to call centre dollies all day.realmad.gif

Dodgy occupation

Your not far from the truth I think!!! How they perceive my job to be a driving risk is FUBAR.

Looks like I'm going to have to call a couple of the companies and ask WTF is wrong with them!

I have tried nearly all the companies on here by recommendation and the prices our posters have been given and in general all the prices have been double what our members have achieved.

Any more companies anyone can add to the list for me to try please?

Gaz

Try talking to a broker, not a call centre and ask them what factors are loading your premium.

Adrian Flux?

Thank you for requesting an insurance quotation from Adrian Flux Insurance, the UK's top specialist motor broker. From the details provided we can provisionally offer a price of £613.96.

Gave them a call and they actually quoted £593 - via highway

Those prices are radiculous for someone with full NCB etc, I am only 22 with 1 years NCB and admiral only charge me £1050.

I would love to know why the prices between insurance companies vary so much. Have you tried using uswitch?

R1, have you tried confused.com ?

The 3 best quotes were from Elephant, Diamond and Admiral, all around £375 with protected NCB and £500 total excess, legal cover.

We have 9 years NCB, safe post code and occupation and this is for a 987 2.7.

My renewal with First Alternative came back £150 more than last year, so I switched to Endsleigh which was £50 less for virtually identical cover.

~1K, they won't match. Funny how Admiral and Elephant (same group) are always much lower for me - and have been for the past 8 years.

£732.95 it is :rolleyes_anim:.

Putting the girl on took £120 off, when her SP30 expires, it drops by another £80.

Need to find another title for my occupation as it seems this may infact be the culprit!

Martins money tips website advises on trying to save money by 'not lying' so much as to try finding a cheaper sounding, less risky occupation title.

So let's have a bit of fun;

Other titles you can think of that will 'fit the bill'

The funnier the better!

I have tried cabin crew, bet you can picture me in a pinny and pushing a trolley!

Bring 'em on......

Do you ever give tuition to people? Teacher...

And, of course, there's the old favourite - amateur gynacologist.

I'm not right seat yet to teach, that'll be the left one!!!

And it has to be along the lines of my current occupation, don't want to give the buggers any excuse not to pay out in the unlikely event of a claim!
