Insurance on 'new' car & NCB question

Recommended Posts

I'm going to be purchasing a 'shed' commuting car shortly

Wife insures the X5 on her NCB (LV)

I insure the GT3 on my NCB (Mannings)

what happens for the shed - do I start back at zero on this ?

Yes. Had my GT86 FNCB and bought a mini as a daily driver. GT86 was £450 fully comp, more than wanted £590 for mini tpft as there is zero NCD on a second car.

Switched to Aviva and paying about £450 pa for both on a multi car policy with 10,000 miles pa on both cars.

I would try and get all 3 on a multi car policy, you can add each as the renewal comes up.

GT3 is staying with Mannings - track cover

BMW isn't due up until March next year, so I guess I'll just have to suck it up on the shed !

Ask about mirrored NCD.

This. A decent insurer / broker should be able to arrange this.

Some insurance companies 'mirror' your NCD on second cars..... AXA certainly do. Worth an ask of your insurance company..... or bear this in mind next time you renew.
