  1. You don't have to even make a claim. When you take out a policy the insurance company will ask whether you've have any accidents in the last x years (regardless of whether it was reported or claimed). If you respond 'no' when it should be 'yes' then you've probably invalidated the policy you've taken out and have commited a fraud.
  2. Does the car start now? If so more likely a fault with the ctek and not the battery.
  3. The way the horizontal crease line has restored itself is very impressive. I thought that would atleast have a kink in it. Well done.
  4. I suggest you try our two insurance company sponsors first! Both have provided competative quotes for me and fellow members. I use A-Plan currently.
  5. Very valid point of view and one, in a professional capacity, I've made to clients but on the other hand should a company get away with either poor service or ripping off customers simply because seeking an appropriate remedy is difficult/time consuming?
  6. I questioned an insurance company on this point and was told that things: cycles, motorcycles, paint tins, planks, boxes, get dropped on cars when in garages. Higher risk = higher premium.
  7. Have you pushed back to see if they offer a better premium? Usually works for me. If you have and there's been no movement then time to move your business. Plenty out there who will want it. IMO insurance companies will charge as much as they think they can get away with!
  8. On a 986 it is the Alarm Control Unit which controls the alarm etc but on a 987 it's a different unit, I think, the Rear Control Unit.
  9. Do check for water but I very much doubt it's that. IIRC the electrics under the passenger seat is a rear control unit dealing with electrics at the rear of the car. My guesses are: 1. Wiper relay fail (try removal, cleaning contacts and refitting); or 2 wiper switch fail.
  10. @Araf could this post be moved to the technical forum where it'll get more attention. It's not a "how to" post rather a "how do you'.
  11. Have 3 cars and house insured through A-Plan. Consistently good quotes often bettering the premium of the year before.
  12. @Araf any chance this thread could be moved out of the "How to" forum? (And this post deleted?)
