  1. My renewal on the 987.2 is £50 less than last year. Having checked comparison sites, its the best deal out there for me right now as well. Looks like they are hitting the SUV market... probably lumping them into the theft bracket
  2. If you read my original post, I was trying (and failing badly having reread it myself) to say that its not worth not declaring mods to insurers. The implication was there but to be clear, I am firmly in the declare all mods camp..which did used to take a while with the old GSXR1000
  3. When I had a claim on my motorbike, the assessor that turned up admitted to me that he knew next to nothing about motorbikes. Given the amount of diffeent brands out there, I would bet that it would be pretty much impossible for a Assessor/Engineer to know what is standard and what is not on the 1,000s of different models cars/motorbikes they are asked to look at. Some things stand out but others do not.. but what do I know, I wouldnt listen to me for 1 second
  4. If you do not declare your mods and have a crash and the insurance assessors spot the mods, worst case scenario you are uninsured. That said, most assessors would not notice but is it worth the risk. Also factor in that with some more obvious mods, if you get pulled by a savvy RPU Police Officer and they can see the mods, and they check with your insurer and there are none declared, they can do you for that as well.
  5. All speedos generally over read by about 5%. This is so that if you get caught speeding, you could not blame the car manufacturer for under reading
  6. Yeah the sides are the little thin strip at the bottom of the unit on mine and when they come on the DRLs go off
  7. Ahh right, the thin strip at the bottom is my sidelights and are on with the headlights as well. With no lights on it has the bigger LED section on with the engine running
  8. My 987.2 has DRL as standard, do they not all come with it ?
  9. Not as far as I know. I would bet pretty much all insurance claims assessors would not know what is an OPC option or aftermarket on something like that either. Also, as they take seconds to remove, in the event of going back tot he OPC for warranty work, just pop them off before you go in.
  10. Wow, that is over 10% interest.... you can tell the owners that pay the Indies to change their bulbs
  11. Also worth remembering that although you will still have the same amount of NCD next year as its protected, your premium will increase for the next 5 years as there is a claim on the system.
  12. it is also to check the info held on the vehicle is correct. Had this with my Alfa where the first insurance company I got a quote with had it on their system as a auto gearbox when it is a manual. There was a big conversation with them where they asked if it had been converted to being a manual. I told them that it had not and on the HPI check it said it was a manual and even had to forward them the HPI check before they agreed their info was wrong.
  13. Ive got a spare one mate, ping me your address and its yours
  14. Well I got them today and I'm not going to fit them. The surround to the unit is chrome and I don't think it will look right with the black. Jonathan is happy to take them back unless one of you wants them for the £280
  15. Just done the diode as per the first post, took literally 5 mins. Have ordered a set of the front DRL's from Jonathan, will post pics when fitted
  16. Here are the prices for the lights without ebay... I can do the following 'from': Fronts: £265 Side repeaters: £115 Rears: £375
  17. I would imagine its a typo as he has them on ebay at £289 its more likely to be £215
  18. Yeah I figured that would be the case. I think if its combined with the diode mod it will work fine
  19. Thai version look the same, it does say on the listing with no additional fees but not sure how http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191844480463?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  20. Ok, I got a reply from the seller as follows... Just in the switch, it's side lights for the thin bar (good at night on its own), but for the DRL, pull switch out one click into front fog mode. Looks stunning. So in standard guise they are not really DRL's as the only way to have them on in the daytime is to have the sidelight on and fog light setting out. However, I am sure I am right in thinking that if you combime these with the diode mod they should work with the switch in the home setting? Looking at you @Guvs lol
  21. I sent a message to the seller asking the question, hopefully they are plug and play
  22. Does the ebay kit come with the diode and instructions ? I see the UK one is £289 and the Taiwan advert is virtually identical but £50 less. Looks loads more modern I think
  23. These ones on ebay... how easy are they to do? Is it literally swop the units over and fit a diode?
  24. MOT day again today!
