Do you have a PCM 3.1 or a CDR-31 (radio with CD)?

Post a pic of your head unit if you're unsure.

    ive a spare Mr12Volt I'm selling ;)

Anyone local to Notts / Derbys who is confident fitting these, I like the idea just not confident enough to take apart my pcm.

Mine is just the basic pcm no sat nav or bose??

  3. You pay the 'luxury' car tax for first 5 years then in reverts to standard rate £180 or whatever it is when ur luxury tax has run its course. I was paying £50 ish per month before it reverted to £180.

You need a buyer who has also not adjusted

No, I just need a buyer who agrees with my valuation and sees the value in such a lightly used car. Interest rates only matter if you have to borrow money, not everyone will do.

Like I've said I'm not a motivated seller,  I don't need to sell just always get itchy feet for something new every 12 months or so.

Anyway, like I've also said, we can all have our opinions. No one knows the future.

  5. The fact they will not be building ice boxsters any more, so if you want a 6 cylinder Boxster that's like a new car there will be less and less choice. Not everyone wanted a 4 cylinder 718 boxster let alone an electric car. This in the long term will stabilise prices of low mileage cars.

I get the interest rate thing but people were buying cars and financing them 20-25 years ago when interest rates were very similar to what they are now. People just have to adjust to the new normal and what is affordable to them.

No one knows the future, we just all have our opinions on it!!

  6. It depends on the seller really, not all have mortgages or not much left on them.

Depends how much they want to sell.

I've just loosely listed my very low mileage (13000 miles) 981 on pistonheads as its free for me to advertise on there.

I don't need to sell and won't unless I get a price that's agreeable. Mine is almost like new and in my opinion the only alternative if looking at condition is a low mileage 4 cylinder 718 as most 981's now have far more miles and not the 'as new' condition.

It may not sell in this market as I really don't think there are many buyers out there currently (although you only need one!), but I'm lucky as I don't need to sell. In the future I think these really low mileage 981's will be sought after. The market won't always be this down.

  7. There is no point in selling, unless you need the profit as you will always regret it as you will never find one better specced at that sort of money, if at all. Dealer demo imo!!

    Good buy 👍

  8. I've had 2 981's. My first was perfect bar no pse. It sounded far too quiet and refined, much quieter than a 987 without pse which I've also had with and without pse.

My solution on my first 981 was to have a nice road trip to Gert in Belgium to have my exhaust modified to the GT exhaust. The advantage is that you get to keep your original boxes and it all still looks o.e.

It also sounded great and also mine worked like pse switchable using the sport button. With sport on it popped and banged just like pse, with it off it was still better sounding than original but had no pops and bangs. It was a bargain at around £450 at the time I believe.

My new 981 has PSE fitted, one of the reasons I went for it as noise really does transform these cars.

If I didn't have pse I would prob be doing another road trip to Belgium. Its a nice trip with the roof down and sun shining.

Both options are very much worth it imo.

  9. Thanks, It's my second 981. Had one a few years ago but do like this one in guards red. PSE is also nice along with the sports seats plus. Don't imagine I'll use it much though now until spring. Always seem to buy cars at the wrong time of year but I didn't want to let this one go with the spec, condition and mileage.
