  1. Armrest - why you selling ?

If all is perfect, I'll take it off you chap for the £150 delivered.

    Patt.

p.s. ordered the smaller pads etc - will let you know how I get on.

  2. Pick up the phone and phone the insurer direct - it should be cheaper as not commission to the meerkat, and dealing direct always quicker. I've got to sort mine by tomorrow and the prices are 50-100% more than last year ! "if you had a second car and only drove 3000 miles , it would be cheaper" It's legalised theft, as they do F all for the money !
  3. If it's an OEM option retro fitted - I do not declare. Would you declare factory fitted bucket seats worth £20,000 on ebay? If it's a safety improvement - eg brakes, hoses etc - I do not declare If it's a performance enhancement, eg larger turbo - I would. AS I would for LPG or NOS That said the last very modified car I owned (Evo VI) I declared everything except the carbon rear spoiler blade (I forgot) A-Plan used to say if it doesn't add 10% fro factory - it isn't a performance upgrade. They also classified the Evo remap as "UK fuel calibration" their words , not mine 🤣
  4. Despite being told I would need to remove each time the car came in for warranty or service work, I fitted mesh behind the bumper myself. The GT cars have it fitted as standard - would be my argument. 2 1/2 years of warranty claims latter (read approx 5 visits and as many weeks in their possession ) and not a word said, or the 991 side repeaters, or the GTS rear light clusters etc.etc. They didn't even try to blame the failed headlight motor on the PPF fitted. They did try to say an intermittent self binding brake pedal was not a safety recall, yet spooky they actually had the parts in stock. It's just the condescending BS they are taught to say at every opportunity to ensure they resume themselves as more superior in the conversation. Elitism is everything
  5. Well it seems most were making a big fuss over my non fault incident and recent fixed speeding fine. - Just over £400 I gave up trying to "add driver" to their web page form and didn't bother calling them as AIB were close enough to my renewal with a good package too.
  6. Whilst slightly more than my requote from Direct Line, I do not wish to ever use them again. Great friendly and quick service from the team and I've also added European breakdown cover as significantly cheaper than a separate policy. I wouldn't have asked them to quote if they hadn't been on here, and A-Plan were significantly more this time too.
  7. Have to have a reasonable grasp of the legal stuff when in procurement so feel free to PM if you need more specific.
  8. Everything should be in the paperwork presented to you, if in doubt you can ask them what clause exactly they are trying to use. If nothing in writing then they need reporting to https://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/businesses/complaints-deal/consumer-credit/car-finance When I was buying lease cars in my last job, I had one or two suppliers try things on that were not on contract. Worse of all was the main lease co put the prices up just before actual delivery date. I asked what clause, they spouted and I read - yep my boss should NOT have signed that contract and the supplier should have had better finance department as every other provider takes a provision for the funds when the order is placed, not 12 months later when the base rate has increase by 3.5 % HTH
  9. I've had significantly different rates quoted me from different OPC on similar approved used cars. I've also heard that rates depend a lot of length of loan and deposit too. Most depends on how keen the "finance manager" is willing to negotiate. In my experience they are too arrogant to do anything but be condescending, rude and unprofessional. The OPC I bought from paid for this in extra options being fitted as "appologies" 😁 All finance is done through VW Finance and when I used it to purchase mine, I paid it off in full within a couple of months with no extra costs thrown in. This was about 5 years ago, so things may well have changed as mine was pre base rate increases.
  10. I noticed whilst fighting with Direct Line that my renewal last year included windscreen replacement as a claim - on top of the yet to be sorted claim ! First time I'd seen windscreen listed as a claim too. On the subject of loop holes, the latest multi car radio advert states right at the end they are only covering for base cars, no optional extra are covered - that's 99.5% of almost every UK purchased car (outside of hire cars). Do people still fall for these obvious scams to draw in customers ? It's worse than click bait as the insurance staff are from courteous, let alone persuasive.
  11. I've always had the Porsche cover previously. I'm out there for Le Mans this year, so watching with interest. I will definitely get some as too many horror stories regarding simple things like availability of tyres for sports cars
  12. The only downside I've noticed with the clear screen is that my auto dim mirrors seem to activate a lot more. I often notice them turn their blue hue even in daylight. Other than that I'm a fan of the clear as it improves visibility , especially with hood closed.
  13. I am a happy customer and always recommend them. Great service and knowledge.
  14. have you tried using the blue (accessory wire) to power the Bose adaptor?
  15. I'm cheating and picking one up from another member tomorrow.
