I knew that but had forgot. Still see you in the white one. I like shark blue. Ford's sound fun. So, you going to open a Chilterns Car Museum when you retire or what 🤣🤣🤣
Had 2 white ones. Sounds like a plan on the museum

That will be nice. How goes it, still got the Cayman, I've lost track ,🙄
Hi Bob, all going well, how are you? it has been a while, I like your new car
yep still got the GT4 (shark blue) which I love. Also put placeholder deposit for a 992.2 GTS for when it comes out.
I also have 3 Ford RS. If I could figure out how to upload on here then I’d share picture. 😂
3 door Moonstone Cossie, Series 1 RS Turbo, Mk1 Focus RS are now in the collection all in very good condition

Maybe they have dropped the standard PASM steel suspension then in favour of only air suspension then by the looks of it.
I am not fully up to spec with he latest generation macans but the steel suspension on the MK1 and facelift was brilliant IMO, the air was a bit soft for sprinted driving, i tried a few at PEC and found the steel PASM to be the pick of the bunch on 20" wheels
Not experienced the latest generation though
I think with the GTS now covering the sales for the Turbo too, they specs changed to allow it to bridge both types of buyer

Yes, there is a difference, it’s a ‘no cost’ option to select the GTS air suspension
It’s standard so just remove your option from your configurator. BUT please confirm this with your SE, I’d hate to give you wrong info based on my misunderstanding.
Looks like you are right - I’ve made the adjustment - it’s so complicated but it comes as standard with air suspension 10mm lower, I’m sure there’s an easier way to explain this on the configurator

Think I now understand having compared our spec lists 🤣
you have the option to choose air suspension ‘standard’ over the GTS air suspension (with the 10mm drop) that’s what confused me hence why it’s not on my spec list as I took the GTS air suspension.
So it’s still air without 10mm drop? Is that right? If so then I need to change my order

I may be wrong so please correct me but having this as standard
Sport air suspension with ride-height adjustment including lowering of 10mm
“GTS Specific Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with reduced ride height - Electronically controlled active damping system with three manually selectable modes ("Comfort", "SPORT" and "SPORT PLUS")”
Like I say, I may misunderstand what your thinking but I assumed it offered the same sporty ride but also comfort when you didn’t need it
Yeah you are right it’s tuned for GTS and is as good if not better. It’s also standard and no cost. 21 inch wheels are standard too. Not sure you can get 20s on the GTS

Fantastic to be honest. I added the tow bar as I use it to trailer my track bike around 🤣
I specced’ mine to near identical to my previous Macan but with all the additional options I know I wanted, heated steering wheel is a must 👍🏻 but I have the leather steering wheel/interior I didn’t opt for any alcantara.
The drive is sublime and try my best not to read to much of the ‘Macan forum’ issues as that’s when you start to ‘listen’ out for issues! Biggest complaint was panel gaps when the engine warms up but it’s not really an issue unless your panel gap OCD plays up.
The PCM display is nice but I’d like to be able to change for more usable widgets as the options are limited. I preferred my previous Macans display wigets. (First world problems!!)I’ll be honest and say I haven’t touched the sports+ or sports exhaust buttons!! Yes I know 🙄 but I’m running it in gently and have had no need to use them yet.
your more than welcome to meet up next week if you want to go over mine with a fine tooth comb and go for a drive
Sounds great, I must admit I’m not convinced on the new interior but I went new as second hand prices are so strong/close to list and are 60 bhp lower in power.
I hadn’t heard of any issues, I will try to avoid reading about them as I’m hoping for a solid car.
appreciate the offer, I’m in Dubai next week working - but would really be interesting in any more views you have, did you got for the torque vectoring?

You need to add the carbon PDK lever otherwise you’ll be gutted you didn’t having added the carbon interior package 😁
Thanks I will consider it- but at £450 seems a little steep and I don’t spend much time looking at the lever.
How do you find the car overall?

Having sold the 981 GTS Boxster last year, I’ve now bought a new daily. 2023 Macan GTS which should be built in June for collection July. I’m really excited to have speced it and be lucky enough to get one of the last ones before they stop production of the GTS.

Funny both mine front and back have gone at the same time. Wonder if it’s the same issue or something more. All works fine from the key

Great thoughts everyone, do I need the power jump from a non-S in reality? I have not driven a GTS yet, I can't find one within 50miles of me I have thought of fitting a PSE as some have suggested.
I’m overseas until mid April, if you are still stuck by then and haven’t managed to test drive one, I’m happy to take you out in mine as a passenger.
-
Just my opinion, unless you are going 718 GTS, sorry not clear on your note, you may as well stick with what you have
-
Classic line insurance is the one I use.
6 non PCGB track days included and then you buy more if needed.
All PCGB trackdays covered
I think they were pretty reasonable on price also when I used them in September
good luck

I have yes; and it’s a good buy. My issue is if I had a gts I’d want the gts interior. I changed my old 987.2S interior to be gts like with the alcantara etc and that’s one of the elements that draws me to the car sadly.
No worries, good luck finding one that fits what you want

I’m happy for my wife to be a more occasional user than she was in the 911 (she always took that car for short trips which infuriated me a little as it would never get the chance to come up to temp). She refused to drive the 987 as she thought the steering was too heavy! Obviously EPS in the 981 (similar to the 991) so I doubt she’ll have that issue. Being a manual will put her off a little bit too.
I may have missed it, but I assume you’ve seen my GTS is for sale

I have been reading on PH etc that the tracking system fitted on the new (and old) Porsche’s is basically a PITA!
I have personally never had a tracker subscription or one activated so am at a bit of a loss with it all.
Numerous accounts of the expensive Vodaphone backed system going wrong necessitating a total reset at the OPC (an all day job). The Having to remember to carry the tracking card every time you take it out or else a phone call from Vodaphone and/or car immobilised!
To rub salt in the wound, apparently more and more insurance companies insist on trackers on >£75k cars.
Never having owned a car in this price bracket and conscious of my GTS order I’m wondering if anyone else has experience of this ‘problem’.
Thanks in advance
Yep a total pita
on top of the problems with resetting the software that required a visit to opc, they then changed the app without notification. An oversight apparently.
it’s a small price to pay for driving a lovely car but surely Porsche can come up with a better solution by now -
Was this a particular model or year?
mine isn’t showing as needing a recall
-
Surprised that he didn’t comment on the linear power delivery on the 718 whereas the 981 has flat spots and also the 718 had tons more options to chose from which add weight and cost compared to the 981

Oh, yes. Most definitely worth it. Do I need to also spend maybe £4.5k on a back box replacement? The jury’s still out, but it’s not a desperate need at the mo. I’d be interested to hear about your doctored back box though….

No worries, yes I will update once the car is out of hibernation
I’m back - sort of - Macan GTS
in Macan
Posted
I updated the spec once locked in.
I’ve changed the suspension to standard GTS air suspension, heated steering wheel and leather gear knob added. (Heated steering wheel is one you🤪) 😂
thanks for the advice
