  1. I had a quote from them for my 981S last week. Biggest surprise was that they weren't linked up to DVLA so just like filling in a paper proposal form about 50 years ago except over the telephone. After all that they were significantly above other quotes too. Shame, I like supporting long term site sponsors.
  2. Varies by insurer. LV give same as in UK for up to 180 days, so if you pay for comprehensive in UK, you get comprehensive in Europe (specific countries are listed in policy). Lots of people don't bother checking and are blissfully unaware.
  3. Whatever the insurer, you need to specifically check whether they cover drivers without a UK driving licence if that is the situation with your Barbadian visitor. Most will not. It will be in their T’s and C’s or details of the additional driver questions which most people don’t read. I have a relative who happily drove around uninsured for several visits unaware of this. They now hire a car because they couldn’t find any other way of getting insurance.
  4. Just googled "classic car european breakdown cover". Lots come up including https://www.gocompare.com/breakdown-cover/classic-car/. Not tried any but might give some options. Good luck.
  5. Were LIME were awarded the contract by a local council (or similar)? If so, have you tried reporting it to them and asking what action they suggest? Some councils licencing "Boris bikes", e-scooters, etc have taken action against these companies as a result of complaints from residents. Worth at least registering a complaint with them. They should have a local senior contact in the company that could assist.
  6. Very recently I had an update from LV that advised you to keep your car insured if you SORN it, in case it is stolen, damaged by fire etc. So maybe they were putting a subliminal marketing message out there vs Admiral. This is on the LV site itself https://www.lv.com/car-insurance/how-to-declare-a-sorn
