getting in some top down action on the way home from the pool this morning
Gotta make the most of the dry bits before it rains again

Cleaned it! The joys of owning a black car - it’s only actually clean for 3 nanoseconds
-
Filled the washer bottle after a quick trip out to pick up supplies - after driving the EV all week you forgot how noisy the Boxster is - its awesome

New house roof and loft boarding has put a dent in my finances (it was planned but still hurts lol)
cross over pipes replaced and now the tyres , insurance next week ..... everything has come together, hence the need to save where possible, but they have to be Michelins on a 3.4L Boxster imo
The law of sods - always happens like that
Could they not have told you about the rears when they failed it on the fronts and saved you the hassle?
-
My mechanic told me to leave well alone unless there were signs of leaking - generally its the front pipes that usually fail, not the long ones, but some prefer to swap out the whole lot if they are doing it themselves.
I had the front ones replaced on my previous car for around £400 all in - my current one had already had them done. Seems that they start to leak around 10-12 years old rather than mileage.
There are a few threads on here where people have DIY'd the job - some have been clever and found ways to avoid dropping the front sub-frame completely - its way past my level of car DIY

Take a closer look. I can pick out the sensor just to the side of the number plate, small circular distortion in the reflection and below the rear light, below and right of the small white window frame in the reflection.

well that photo makes the camber look severely p*ssed

I had a leaf go into my side intake and you could hear the fan ticking away. Fished the leaf out and funnily enough the ticking noise went away
Can't trust those EVs - they get everywhere
I've removed the baffle plate from mine and if you listen to scaremongers on the internet, that will almost guarantee the car will catch fire on every trip -not happened yet!
I agree the zunsports sit a bit proud, but they were already on mine when i bought it, and with the black on black its not as noticeable. I prefer the 981 fitment with the grilles between the slats

I'm using very thinly spread man maths as it is already...
Actually I decided at the weekend these cars are a pain to try and buy as said already its options bingo....nice colour, nice wheels, someone onm acid then cbose the interior...then try and find one with PASM and PDK and ... and - it gets boring
there is only one thing for it - you need to order a box fresh one
-
come on @Dubdubz, you've started down the slippery slope, you are 60% of the way there to using man maths to justify a Spyder as that has even more HP!!
Dig deep - it'll be worth it in the end
-
Zunsports are the easy option - made to fit, simple to attach - DIY route is a lot cheaper but requires more time and effort so depends if you fancy the job or not?

Ad just popped up on AT, priced ok, looks like it might need front shocks and a screen from MoT details

I’m half tempted. Shame the 981 BE are 2.7’s
not the most comprehensive set of photos i've ever seen, but house looks nice and theres a Taycan in the background so could be a half decent person to buy from?
Get them to do the works as part of the sale price, or knock them down to cover the costs?
-
despite all of the doom mongers above 😜 - its a 10 year old sports car and you've bought it just at the right time of the year to get the roof down and enjoy it.
A lot of the mechanical scare stories you see on the internet are from the older cars, the 981 had a lot of those resolved, yes you'll still need to keep on top of maintenance and some of the jobs will be a bit expensive due to the Porsche tax, but this forum is a goldmine of useful info and knowledgeable/helpful members and most problems will have been found and fixed in the past. People can recommend a decent indy local to you for any jobs you don't fancy doing yourself.
They are brilliant cars, don't drive like a tw@t and you'll be fine, the same as any other car. If you really want to get to grips with the limits of the performance, a day at the Porsche Experience Centre with the skid pan is well worth the money (and you get to drive some nice cars too).
Enjoy - and if you didn't know already - we like pics on this forum, so post up as soon as you get it.
The hardest part will be removing the grin from your face!!

Looks great and easy to use.
I can help but think this is a great investment of £1200. Man maths says so anyway and as they say 'Resistance is futile.' I am trying to resist, but I do have a nice level drive...
I have garage envy, not even got to the ramps yet

The alternative is to disconnect the battery for 20-30mins to give enough time for the memory to clear. Done that many times in the past with good success

I read that it's a fairly common problem and easy to swap out the pump. The challenge is that its located at the back of the front wing behind the inner wheel arch.
Quite a few guides online on how to replace.

Actually this one looks like it has the connectors on the back
For the record, I tried one of these VW ones as it was only £17 off amazon. Really easy to get the switch out and can confirm it's doesn't work
Worth a try though

At 10k you are well into good 987 money as well. Unless you have a desire for a 986 specifically, I would also consider the 987.
As others have said, that one had more red flags than a Chinese parade, you did well to avoid. Buy on condition and maintenance. And let us know where you are, there maybe someone local willing to help out
