Re the seal that’s a “kidney” for the hard top from Porsche. I am not familiar with the hardtop or the profile / shape of the seal but I just replaced the boot seal on wife’s car with one from these folks.

they appear to have a number of seal profiles on the shelf - and just perhaps there’s something in their catalog that would help.

    worth a call perhaps. ?

No affinity.  Just a happy customer for a seal for a daily driver.

    Handy site, ta for sharing.

I'll most likely, definitely, outsourcing this to my local garage with detailed instructions.  Fortunately they dropped the subframe last year when replacing the left coffin arm.

I'd like to not spend the 200 quid for those pipes if not needed.

I'll check pricing around since I'm based in New Zealand.  I've found cars245 have consistently provided the best overall price including shipping.

I had the lot refreshed on my 987.2.

If I was going to pay for it,  I'd save up, do the lot and get the parts from Porsche not a third party.

Anyone local to Notts / Derbys who is confident fitting these, I like the idea just not confident enough to take apart my pcm.

Mine is just the basic pcm no sat nav or bose??

Do you have a PCM 3.1 or a CDR-31 (radio with CD)?

Post a pic of your head unit if you're unsure.

Car was fine from Thursday-today when all issues returned…

The issues being the return of codes 8004, 8005 and 8006 or do you mean something else ?

I'll wager the PCM wasn't coded out out the car with a Porsche PIWIS when the head unit was replaced.

I checked my rears and all clear - just poured water and it ran out quickly - but I think I'll try the air route to be sure.

Have you done the front / frunk drains?

There aren't any front drains as such, it's just a series of holes but yes I try to keep the frunk area clean of leaves etc...

Switched the alarm off at 01:30 this morning.  Only obvious thing is it has been rain lots.  Battery is about 5 years old but still cranked OK last time it started on Monday.  Hoping I've not got wet electrics but it has survived lots of heavy rain so far this year and drains were clear two weeks ago.....

When the rain stops and things are bit dryer outside I'll take a proper look.

Check the back-up battery in the siren.

  7. Welcome 👍

Tips ? Never drive it in the wet or the winter (I'm kidding, I drive mine all year round).

Porsche Extended warranty in the UK is unto 125k miles/15 years, requires Porsche to have serviced it last and the 111pt onboarding process you mention if it doesn't already have their warranty on it. I've been down this road myself, I rationalise the £60ish a month on-going warranty spend as peace of mind and I've had my monies worth out of it across three Boxster ownerships.

More detail on the warranty https://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesandservice/porscheservice/vehicleinformation/approvedwarranty/

I'll let things dry some more and try again in the morning with the car back on level ground to see if things have improved or not. I am also going to get a pair of "Drain Strainer/Water Filter" (98756158700) that I now know exists and I seem to be missing.

These were standard on the 987.2 (not the 987.1)

One word of caution, they are great for stopping larger objects going down the drains but it's still important to check the drains regularly as they can , if you live in the right area get covered in silt/dust and block up. Ask me how I know.

I'd still have them but just keep up with regular checks on the drains.
