Hi all,
So occasionally on start up I get a puff of smoke, it clears and the car runs fine.
Doesn't happen all the time, sometimes when its been sat for a week or two and sometimes after a day, does seem to happen when hot.
Is this just a "Boxster thing' or do I need to start worrying??

Just spoke to the lovely Fran from Howden (the new name for A-plan) and got a good quote.
£264 full comp on a 2.7 987 (07)
For info, limited to 5k, garaged, me and the boss, both with clean licences and over 50.
I'm happy with that.

I built the kit car myself and it costs peanuts to keep it running (£200 insurance, Ford parts, £250 road tax, 30 mpg)...
Out of interest what kit car do you have??
In my youth I smoked about in Dutton B+ for a couple of years and loved every minute of it.

What the best product to use to get the scuttle panel back to black?
I've used 'Back to Black' and tyre dressing and whilst it works it never seems to last very long so any more permanent solution would be appreciated.
Thanks

Not sure why you need to have it at max? It's not a target 😜One or two bars below ? less likely to be over filled.. imho. Not saying I've not done the same in the past though.
Good point, Ive left it overnight in my 'very level' garage, I'll just see where its at and if its above half I'll just leave it and use that as my reference.

Single or double DIN? There seems to be several fans of the Pioneer double DIN SPH-DA units on here. (120, 130, 230...)
I think double din is the way to go.

Hi all, the one thing I hate about our 987 is the cr@p stereo.
My daily is a Mk6 Golf GTD and Ive just upgraded the headhunt to a CarPlay unit, I love it, I'm an Apple fan boy so it suits my needs perfectly.
So, how hard is it to upgrade our stock 987 CDR24 to a CarPlay item, and what head units would folk recommend.
Thank you

I've now filled it to the max as measured on the dash, started it up and then shut down, I'll wait 30 mins and refill to the max mark again.

Ive picked up some Milton tablets, how many should I use and how much water?
The wife is concerned that Milton is a bleach and may bleach the roof so I want to get this right.

^ +1 for the Protex system. I went from blue roof to black a year ago and it still looks good.
Do they do a blue option?

Hi all
So Ive tried cleaning my roof with Auto glym roof cleaner and whilst it doesn't come up too bad it still have these green marks on it, what's the best way to get rid of them?
Also the roof is starting to look a little faded, is it worth dyeing it?? has anyone on here successfully dyed their roof?

looking at your rusty nuts I'd not hesitate in buying a whole new set anyway! 🤓
Its not mu pic, I stole it but TBH mine are pretty grim, bolts have some surface rust but collars are not good.
So where is the best place to buy new ones please?
Rog.
-
Sorry but I've stolen someone else's picture.
Is it possible to just buy the wheel bolt collars or do you need to buy the whole bolt?
Many thanks

Good morning chums,
Is there a maintenance schedule for the roof? I'm thinking bits to be oiled, greased etc

Thanks for the tips fella's, unfortunately I had cash burning a hole so got a K&N for £64, pricey I know but it says it lasts for 50k so 'should' work out cheaper in the long run...lol
