  1. It’s funny how things turn out.  I had not considered a cayman until the test drive and liked it.  That day I saw a new unregistered one in a dealer online in the identical spec except for Bixenon vs LED.  Called up straight away - just in time as signed contracts this morning and will pick up this weekend.   http://www.porsche-code.com/PPR348C9

so the big question is will I get kicked out of BoXa.net now?

I am going to still keep the deposit on the boxer already placed just in case I want to move back in 18 months - if prices hold up.

  2. Hi, looking to buy a boxster - on waiting lists. Dealers are keen on HP and I am open to it but does anyone have experience of paying additional payments to clear faster?  I want to ensure these will reduce interest charges and struggling to find anything online.

also want to make sure no penalty for early repayment.

    thanks in advance

Their current demo is Acid, which is one I had considered but would have faced divorce making it an even more expensive purchase. The 2 new cars arriving in March they gave me an option on were Python and Arctic. I chose the Arctic and the Python will be their new demonstrator.

Yes not sure I could live with the python everyday.  Could probably go red at a push but much prefer the greys and black tones as prefer to be inconspicuous.   I am surprised someone cancelled their order.  Love the GT4 look as well but worry it would not be good daily driver.

Having gone through this process, it's quite stressful, wondering if you will ever get your car.

I think now most centres are not taking orders as they are being told that due to component shortages, production is going to cease at the end of this year. There will be a few trickle through next year but not many.

I spoke to my OPCs, where I have orders in from November 2022, today and the comments were not overly positive with less than expected allocations so far this year and even if a car gets allocated some key items (for some) such as Bose and LEDs may not be available at time of build.

I would ring every OPC and register your interest and hope for a cancellation that isn't taken up by their waiting lists, as unless it's a cancellation or the supply/demand/component availability changes dramatically, your chances are slim at this time.

I had done the same, even chasing demos and had a surprise call today offering me a choice of 2 cancellations at list price, one of which I bought.

Thanks for this information.  Happy to pay list price. Can you let me know which OPC?

  5. Thanks for the fast replies - was that price from Porsche dealer and with the buttons to activate as I was quoted more?  Would also be good to get thoughts and the new tail pipes in kit - do they make a difference or can you use existing?

  6. I still really like my 987.2s but was thinking of retrofitting the sports exhaust but called one specialist who said it did not make much of a difference on the 987.2 and recommending keeping my money.  Has anyone had experience in retrofitting to 987.2 or has driven both it would be great to get your view.

The other option would be to sell and buy a 981s - but I quite like the fact the interior of 987.2 looks retro and the care has been perfect without issues since purchased it.

    thanks in advance

Mine is booked in at Swindon OPC in a coupe of weeks for this - quoted £1,056.

Reading OPC quoted £1,227 so worth checking the different OPC's if any others are in reasonable range.

Personally feel it will be well worth it...

Definitely money well spent from my point of view

I'm looking at getting the sport/sport plus retrofit done. Silverstone Porsche quoted me £1190 to have it done, causing me to hesitate having it done.

Who did your upgrade if you don't mind me asking?

Hi Andygo, I paid £995 for the sport and sport plus including the buttons fitted at Solihull Porsche Centre.  They gave me a 10% discount on the parts and labour.   I called 3 or 4 and they were the cheapest plus got a great service.

  9. I felt pdk in my S was a little lethargic unless manually changing, so went for the retrofitted sport and sport plus modes.  I was happy before but I must say I am even happier now.  Cost me close to £1k including buttons but personally I am happy I did it.  Having the sprint booster may have closed the performance gap but could not resist the buttons.  Has anyone found a benefit of having sports button and booster?
