I was slightly irritated that my renewal quote had gone up by about £70. Went to a comparison sight and the lowest quote was £50 on top of that! So I just renewed.

Movie fans will think of Harry Lime.

Let's hope all our claims are low value. I like my car in it's original shape.

protected no claims is a cheap add-on IMO

I didn't claim for 2.5K worth of damage when my wife reversed into a stone wall. The policy was in my name (15+ yrs No claims protected). I'm cross with myself every time I think about it - bonkers. What was I thinking?

That's the letter of the law, I know. But not the spirit of the law, I think.

That incident sounds pretty scary. I paid out £2,200 rather than claim on my insurance when my wife bent the car against a wall. I knew it would affect insurance premiums on our other cars despite NCD. In retrospect, I probably should have claimed but my instinct is to stay away from Insurance companies as much as possible.
