Just suck up the damage as it happens and spend the same on a quality 4 wheel refurb @3yrs (if needed)? Power is in your hands then, with respect to who you choose and the $$ stays in your hands in the meantime.

Good premium from Performance Direct

Were not cheaper for me on this occasion, pass. -
I'm glad we have a how-to on how to remove four screws 😄. But seriously, looks smart. You can order the clips as a seperate part, too.

Is it worth your time? Chalk it up to experience?

I just renewed with the RAC (car). Beat the renewal down to £95, all of the options, homestart etc, and got it up to 15 months from 12.

I thought you could code this in PIWIS\Durametric? 🤔

@Simon. Where did you find 'Matt" from? Slightly dubious about sending someone a key to my car, and a postal address for obvious reasons.... Is your car still in your posession? 🤐

Premature sale/hand back under OPC finance ?
Skidd replied to Patt's topic in Insurance / Finance questions
Might want to keep some liquidity for a while, for other expenses, and just continue paying the monthly payment on the car until things become more clear. Best of luck, I've dodged a bullet a few times now. Not nice at all. -
Isn't this method a bit odd - presumably the driver is the risk, not a given vehicle, and therefore NCB should in theory be mirrored?

Holy cr*p thats double the price of my car insurance.

I forgot about mine a few years ago. A previous early service\mot had brought the date forward a month and caught me out. Easily done. Yes I had been driving about for a few weeks, and no, never got pulled. The only time I've ever let this happen!

Turns out there is no qualifiying criteria so I'm all good. Apparently there are people joining who don't even have driving licenses but get an allowance - the existence of a car is completely immaterial. Happy days. Looks like I have my Boxster maintenance fund then. Must be time to call Russ about those coolant crossover pipes....

Lots of good advice, thanks. I guess it comes down to how strictly T&Cs are enforced. I've heard stories of people having to submit V5, MOT and insurance documentation to maintain the benefit - until I have line of site of that process, I won't know what the options are. I'm always up for keeping my head down and keeping quiet on such matters if I can get away with it...within the context of performing at a high standard of course. We shall see....
