topradio
The mod is really easy to do and it will only cost you about £6 in Perspex.
topradio
BTW I don't think you need a vent in the bottom. I didn't get chance to check Dan's one when we got together a couple of weeks ago but I suspect that the gap is something to do with it being glass. The Perspex one from the States doesn't have a gap and if you put your hand in front of it at speed the wind pressure is pretty low.

There might be a slight increase in wind noise, but nothing troublesome and no noticable buffeting. No rattles either. There is a small cutout at the base of the glass, as you can see in the photo below. I wonder if this is designed to allow some air through, to prevent, or at least minimise, the effects described by @Greenman above? Just one minor issue I should have mentioned: in strong sunlight with the roof down, I can now see a perfect reflection of my gear selector in my rear view mirror via the glass wind deflector! topradio
So this was the donor deflector Simply prise apart This is what you now have Lift away the mesh and use the frame as a template Use a fine toothed jigsaw to cut the 2mm Perspex And you should have this Check the fit Press the two halves of the frame together and you will have this And this is it fitted

Found that I had to ditch the jig saw in favour of my dremel to avoid stress cracks but that was probably the blade. Great end result, thanks for sharing. Use a metal cutting blade or very fine cut and tape the area to be cut. Shouldn't be a problem.
petrolhead
Old thread I know but... Would it not be better to use polycarbonate over perspex due to the strength of poly being higher and less susceptible to cracking when cut?
petrolhead
Just want to thank to OP for this excellent idea. I went with polycarbonate and job done. What made things even easier for me is I have a band saw
