John K
I know Centre Gravity is the favourite place to go for a Geo setup, but Lee has got all the toys and knows what he is talking about so I went to have mine done today. I am no driving God but know my way around a bend or two (sideways) and have driven quite a few cars that pulled under braking or acceleration etc so thought my Boxster was OK as it went and stopped in a straight line and I hadn't noticed any horrible tyre wear (yet) So whilst sat in Lee's waiting room I was quite surprised when Lee came in and said "Rich is asking if you've crashed it, potholed it or done any DIY adjustments, it's that bad... And that's just the rear" And left me with my mouth open Only to come back 15 minutes later and say "The front is even worse..!" We had a chat and came to the conclusion everything was so out of wonk, it sort of cancelled itself out. Posted below is the Before (top) and After (bottom) read outs Quite a lot of red on the Before..! And here is the review I emailed back to Lee... Initial thoughts on driving out of the road was that the self centering was nicer but nothing over whelming. On the gentle drive back to Broadway I have to admit I was looking for changes again nothing much except perhaps the steering was lighter so so far, nothing amazing. Then I got through Broadway onto the bypass at the roundabout closest to Wickhamford and lent on it a bit to go right onto the bypass proper. “Oh Hello” I thought… Blasted through the next roundabout on the way up to the Fish I repeated the route up and down a few times (much to the amusement / horror of some Ramblers), about 6 times in total It is now driving as I thought it should, it is neutral. Perhaps a whiff of understeer but hold on and it’ll settle nicely into a neutral slide And much much more adjustable on the throttle, before I could provoke it into oversteer but the inputs had to be almost clumsy. Now they can be delicate Got some with reasonably warm tires and a massive grin, please tell Rich “he done good” The takeaway from today is, if you have an older Boxster or perhaps it is not a 'sharp' as you think it should be, get the Geo checked..! Grizzlee
I know we discussed this but I still find it Interesting that it hadn't scrubbed the tyres, especially with it being that far toe-out or in. Might get mine looked at now as I have no idea when it was last checked, if ever.
CAZ
Must say I did feel the difference after the Cherry Bomb also had this done at Lees - so much so that I thought I would have it done every 6 months or so along with an oil change - definitely a more comfortable ride 😱

After the Scampi and sweet potato fries at the “munch “ sounds like you have own personal Carnewal ! so that’s a start 😉
Tony Daniel
I have an alignment every year and its usually out, rough roads and airborn adventures on BoXa.net Scottish adventures don't help 😊. I tend to run a lot more camber than standard especially at the front as the Porsche setting will give you understeer. My front camber is 1.2 and the rear 2.2 but this does give me more inner tyre wear on the rear so may reduce this a little. It always pays to use a Porsche specialist for your alignment as some Kwikfix organisations can be butchers.

That's exactly what Lee suggested to do if I wanted it even more pointy. His starting point was going to be 0.5 on the front as a starting compromise. I'll let myself get used to it before making any sort of changes.
entdgc
Good to see that he didn't just settle for getting in the green area. He went the whole hog and centred all the values. Good work!

Yes I can see the measurements but would a mechanic actually make that mistake. By the way my steering wheel has an offset when driving straight but there is no apparent scrubbing of my tyres. 🤔
