Looks much sharper imho.

Calypso, do you mind me asking where you got your tyre stands? What make are they? I was looking to get some but all the ones I looked at were too narrow.

Today I have done exactly nothing to my 981. Due mostly to it being in my garage in England and me being at work in Nigeria. I have thought about it and the prospect of a dry winters day when I get home for the Xmas hols.

If you let us know where you live and leave the keys out a fellow BoXa.netter can take it for a spin, you know to keep the fluids circulating 😁

took the day off work,  got loads done today.   Nice to know when porsche checked the battery they must have crossed threaded the bolt as it just spins round so somehow ive got to get it off and fit a newone.

Fitted the painted roll hoops,   My fault that i didnt get the wings that pop up when the roof it lowered but i actually prefer it that way now.   Had a nightmare getting them back together,  went off for a cup of tea then tried again then heard that satisfying pop as they go together.

Also fitted red seats,  nice and easy job, although i forgot to re fit the plugs on one side so had to take all the trim off again and make sure that was fitted.  Makes a world of difference to the cabin.

Next on the list is wheels probably grey, and GTS diffuser.

Just found them on eBay. They aren’t quite as wide as the tyres but they are better than the car just sitting on the garage floor for a few months. If you wanted then you can easily link two side by side thus doubling the width.

Here the link if you want some.

Thanks for the reply. Did you screw them to the garage floor? If so do you have any issues driving over the first set when parking? Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to get an idea of the potential pitfalls.

No they’re not screwed into the floor. All I did was pick where I wanted the car positioned, moved it forwards the length of the stand and then reverts back onto it. That way if I wanted to alter where the car was it would be relatively easy. I won’t be using them when the car is in regular use in the summer months.

Not actually today but  a couple of days ago the car fired up first twitch of the key after sitting for the last 8 weeks in the garage and then proceeded to head a couple of hours up the road to Nottingham and collect my son for Xmas in a very happy manner. Apart from a Macan I saw no other porkers all day.

Decided against the mesh covers that day due to not being happy with the material I got, have now ordered a second type to see if I’m happier with that....

what mesh did you go for, seem some on ebay and not sure if 1m x 25cm is large enough or just go for the 1m x 40cm as im too lazy to go out to the garage to measure the grille.

so woke up early and its a job ive been wanting to do and was kind of deliberating whether to do it, i'll always get myself in a mess.  anyway watch a few youtube videos and thought id give it a go, wish i had a mini rachet torx kit but managed anyway.  what do they say about a man and his tools!

OCD kicked in and had to clean it all aswell,  very dirty under those covers especially as its not done many miles.

anyway wasnt that bad at all, just torx screws, the hardest bit was the clips either side holding the wiring against the side of the bumper took me ages to free them.  Anyway its off and i will get that sent off for painting at some stage.  when i get it back i have some black aluminium mesh on order and i will put that over the front grills,  basically as i found a hug flying (dead) bug in the radiator I have no idea what it is maybe a june bug.

GTS diffuser on order so rear bumper off for that aswell.  then its wheels for a refurb and i think im pretty much there.

removed the rear bumper today,  before i did that i took the front bumper to painters which i should get back in a week in two.   Cleaned the radiators and plastic and treated the plastic to ceramic protection.   Going to try to remove the rear diffuser tomorow,  i should have been able to replace it with the GTS but i was actually sent the wrong diffuser so had to return and replace.  No rush.

My neighbour brought a gift round,  a little porsche keyring!

Bought some mesh for behind the grills aswell which i will fit once i get the bumper back.

Discussed wheel colours aswell with the painter,  after playing around on photoshop im not brave enough for gold so going to go as close as possible with the hyper silver already on the wheels

gave removing the old rear diffuse ago today,   honestly dont know how anyone can get the diffuser off when its still on the car.   Really easy to remove just push the tabs out,  even the dreaded centre bit was easy,  its a clip type tab and a  screwdriver lightly pushed so it pops the tab out means it pushes straight out.  Tons of stones tucked between the two bits of the diffuser.

Fingers crossed the fitting is just as easy,  got some more ceramic trim coating for the diffuser aswell.

Today took a long drive to Lee's (Cotswolds porsche) and dropped off the Martini, default codes thrown up - it's either new coil packs or cr*p fuel from Sainsbury's (yes I know-dont start!) 7 hr round trip due to m5 being shut at 14 grrrrrrrrrrr

Yesterday on the Porsche website configured a 718 GT ... will see what I get for mine to see if I change up to a new summer toy :)
