Either buy a car in stock at current prices, or wait until January to see what the deal is.

Good idea. I'm going to wait and see as you suggest. Sadly the GTS 4.0 PDK is not scheduled for release until next year possibly spring or later.

I'm keeping my 718 S for now and keep my fingers crossed. Incidentally the 718 S is due her 4 year service next month. Anyone know how much this costs? Should I go to a OPC or try an independent Porsche specialist. I have a highly rated Brooklands Centre very close to where I live.

Suppose it depends if you're willing to pay the Porsche tax🤬.

moreso if you are thinking of chopping it in for another Porsche at an OPC...in which case I'd stay with official Porsche servicing (in fact on a 4yr old car I would even if selling privately in the next 12 months)

Thanks people. Really appreciate this. Does anyone have any idea what is done at a 4 year service on a 718?

I think following the schedule for the 4 year service, the OPC will try to completely drain and not refill your wallet.

Yikes! 😆 Two years ago they somehow managed to ramp up the first service from £545 to £825..... I still remain mystified to how this occurred but I just went with because I don't like being confrontational. Has anyone out there had a 4 year service on a 718 yet? Hey I guess it may work out cheaper than getting a service done before 31st December!

So Cayman 718 GTS 4.0 PDK is back on order, however I have gone green, not in the environmental sense which I feel rather bad about. A document was produced to sign for any price changes due to unforeseen tariffs but I have been told I can walk away if this is an issue which is fair.

ETA May hopefully. The 718 S will be part exchanged which brings me on to something. I have thoroughly enjoyed this 4 cylinder turbo and on track it outperforms the stick shift straight six GTS 4.0.  All this for aural pleasure huh? I'm mad I guess.

When did you place your order?

Others are being quoted 4th quarter for delivery

Fourth quarter?! Seriously? I signed and sent my order form a week ago but prior to this was told the the build date would be 24th April with a UK ETA of around three weeks after this. This is for a Cayman 718 GTS 4.0 PDK, not a Boxster.

All built on the same production line, you may have got lucky, but you have guys who have placed orders in November/December who havent even got a build date yet, even 1 guy who was supposed to have delivery in Jan which hes been told will be May now.

Lack of semi conductors is delaying every car manufcaturers production, especialy the VW group.

Interesting. Is it true that OPCs get a certain number of allocations for specific models? Would that impact on timings? I haven't been given any guarantees on the delivery date, just an estimate and judging by what you are saying this may change drastically. I will keep you posted but fingers crossed I may have got lucky as you have said.

Allocations are quarterly and are then dished out . How many each dealer gets im not sure of.

I wonder if I bagged an order which was cancelled. I guess that's possible.

Oooh, suits you sir!

Don't get me wrong. Orange is very close to my heart. I was convinced by my significant other that if went for orange again it would be like getting the same car again. The Porsche configurator doesn't really flatter the python green but I was very taken by this with some pictures I was sent of this colour on a humble 911.

I'm just saying it's nice someone goes for bold colours every now and then :)  I'm not nearly such a fan of the lava orange as of my own.  But as for pics - we probably both know the colour is hell to capture accurately in photos.  I always take about 20 pics of my car and dump 18 of them as somehow the camera light sensor couldn't figure out the colour "accurately" enough, it doesn't represent what the car really is.

Enjoy!

Is anyone out there interested in my  Cayman 718 S (66 plate)? Lava orange. 18k miles. Owned from new. Apologies if in the wrong section. I will part exchange hopefully some time in May if all goes to plan. Attached a link to some pics taken after a full Gtechniq valet. Sorry if the link is faulty. Pulled off OneDrive.
