  1. Well my tale starts 26 yrs ago when i bought a 944 of a mate who was trading it in, that started my love affair with all things Porsche, after buying a few other 944' S2, and then a 996 Carrera 2 which was beautiful, i thought it was time to try a Boxster. First one was a 986, 2.7 in Polar silver and i was hooked.. Several others followed including the S 3.2, in speed yellow so much attention, all good. Then i got a 3.4lt 987 in Atlas grey, lovely and that was the shape that did it.. Sold it too early because a cheap 997 S came along, was fast and lovely spec but just didn't suit me, so back on Autotrader and tried several others brands, TTs, BMW M3 cab, Honda Civic type R, then i struck gold..05 plate ,Basalt Black 987S, FSH, 19alloys, 18 way sport seats, sat/nav Bose you name its got it, best spec'd car i have even found, low miles and only one former owner. So payed the owner and drove her home, 200 mls and sold. I have it now 12 yrs next month and no plans to ever sell her. the shape , the sound is immense, the quality, the feel , the subtle curves of the rear quarters, love everything about it....and hasn't missed a beat. Usual wear and tear items and one water pump and that's it so reliable and with the top down driving fantastic roads nothing else will do, tried the 718 S on a track day and was impressed, very quick and fun but the money i have in mine and the 40k plus to upgrade doesn't make sense to me.. Its purely a weekend toy and only a few thousand miles per yr so no brainer, but that takes nothing away from the 987.1   I actually prefer the overall shape. Also they are brilliant on the track, mine has had plenty of action, with only a few mods, lowered and  spacers, few engine bits but mostly standard and just so much fun.....the love affair continues  !
