  1. No. of course its not "too fast" because it only goes as fast you want it go.

Has it got more performance than you can fully exploit on the public road?  Yes.

The big torque of the turbo fours and the 400hp of the 4.0 six means that there is far more performance than is necessary. The only time that full performance is ever really used on the road is briefly during overtaking.

If you want to get your fun wringing the engine out in a Boxster then a 987 or 981 base model is the one to go for.

Thanks and this type is auth? I have the same wheels and car still under Porsche warranty

The PS4S =N0 is approved for the 718 but not for the 981 (see the list posted by iborguk), so technically not an approved fitment.

Some OPCs will be ok for you to fit PS4S, but some could be arsey about it. Also the terms of the extended warranty do say that no-one other than an OPC can touch you car, and if they really wanted to difficult that would include a tyre fitter

The safest way to ensure that extended warranty is preserved is to get the OPC to supply and fit the tyres. Then there can never be an argument.

@MH82 My OPC is Porsche Nottingham.

As you say MH82, it's unusual for the original timeframe quoted to be honoured; however there is still plenty of time for the delivery to slip! 😆

Spec-wise, I've gone for the 'full works' as (after making the mistake of selling my 981) I intend for this to be a keeper...

Extended Race-Tex & leather (as I don't like the weave of the CF in the GTS Interior Pkg), PCCBs, 18-way seats, Burmester (Hi-Fi was my 1st love before cars), LED PDLS+, PSP, LDP, folding & auto-dimming mirrors, cruise control, painted roll bars, reversing camera, Lane-change assist, HomeLink (to control a Cargraphics exhaust valve controller), Entry & Drive (keyless entry), 2-zone climate control, Heated multifunction steering wheel, ISOFIX, Race-Tex visors, leather seat backrests (as the silver plastic doesn't look great IMHO) & leather steering column, yellow seat belts (to match the PCCBs), illuminated stainless-steel Door sill guards, and a few other bits & bobs. (ref. PNYHDDP6).

I don't blame you for wanting a Spyder; I absolutely love them, and my heart was torn between a GTS and a Spyder.  However I intend to use it as a spring/summer daily.  And sadly I would have had to compromise too much with the Spyder, hence ordering the GTS.

Cheers jhemus, It seems as though Q1 allocations are coming through in drips & drabs ever since about 1 month ago; I thought I'd missed out on a Feb-22 build as the OPC said they received have any Boxster GFTS 4.0 allocations for Q1, but then I got the unexpected call :)

Great spec. Pretty much what I have chosen for my final GTS4.0.
I would add the camera based speed limit indicator - I found it surprisingly useful in my first GTS4.0

Did you look at Aventurine green? That was the colour of the first car and it looked awesome (esp with the PCCBs) Classy like agate but just that bit different too to make it stand out.

BTW - the supplied remote for the Cargraphic controller fits perfectly into the space in the smoking package if you take the ash tray out. Looks like it belongs.  No need to spend money on the home link

Interesting. As it stands, I’ve specified -10 on the basis that x73 is definitively too hard for me and I don’t want to end up with a car that gives me back ache (I’ve done that before). It’s going to be a tough call.

X73 is passive suspension and a world away from current adaptive suspension.
the -20mm is not at all hard or harsh. There’s no way you’d get back ache from it.
Just try it, you’ll be amazed at how good it is.

  5. Having done 10,500 miles in GTS4.0 with the proper -20mm suspension I can only say that the softer -10mm would be a huge mistake.
The ride quality with the -20mm is uncannily good. It’s hard to believe than a car that can corner so flatly can ride so well with no harshness.
The -10mm option will lose so much of the poise and precision that makes these cars so good. I’m sure they only have it as an option to please Americans.

when speccing your car don’t do it. You’ll regret it.
