I have had 3 Boxsters S versions (986,987 and 981) before purchasing a 991.2 C4S as I always wanted a 911.
In my opinion the 911 was far superior in every way but so was the price and having had the 911 for 2 years through Covid it wasnt used as much as I wouldve liked.
It was the best car I have purchased and probably will ever purchase, best decision I ever made selling the car in July this year.
Think I will get a 986 S or 987 S as a second car in the future for weekend fun as they really are a bargain compared to owning a 911.
Itch scratched and came out relatively unscathed financially due to used car prices.

Have you tried Porsche OPC's, as I sold my 911 to one two weeks ago as they offered £5k more than WBAC. It sort of turned into a bidding war on the car as they are desperate for stock.
They even came and collected it off the drive after viewing it once and then put it on their forecourt for the same price I bought it off them over 2 years and 15,000 miles later.
To be honest it was a very painless transaction as I really didnt fancy selling a car of its value to a stranger, after a test drive and haggle on pricing etc etc.

I like personalised plates and that does look good.
Just surprised 981 PDK didnt go for more money, think it might in the future.
I would pay £1350 for it now and I dont have a 981 lol
-
I still think its good value at £1350 for a 981 as you cant get many non suffix number plates for less than £1,000 unless it contains a Z.
-
Anyone on here buy the 981 PDK number plate last week off that website?
Seems very good value for £1,050!

I looked around for cheaper insurance but couldnt find anything that suited for my 911 so went with them.
-
Looks like theres 2 bidders who really want it.
-
Theres a £5k bid in so far, this is going to be an entresting thread as the bids get close to 2nd July when it ends.
The bidders name is Optimistic

I have the Porsche tracker and just renewed it with Vodafone due to my insurance company insisting on it or they wont insure if stolen.
The key fobs are a pain in the **** as you have to carry one with you when in the car, if not they phone you to check the car is in your possession and then keep phoning if they cant get hold of you.
Would rather not have it but its a lot of £ to lose if stolen.

I think its easier to say drive it and use it like it was built for when its someone elses car.
Theres probably quite a few people on here that think I will use my other car instead of putting miles on my Boxster so it doesnt devalue.
You pay your money, you take your choice.
-
Whats the feeling on here about the car should be driven and not conserving the mileage?
-
Less than £10k unless someone is really daft enough to pay more as I dont see it as a special car its just a 986 - just one with lower than expected mileage.
-
Would worry about this in October 2022 when the renewal of the warranty is up or youve got a 4.0?
As long as youre happy with the currenty tyres for another year and 4 months.

I would definitely recommend the heads up display - in my BMW its fantastic and miss it when I get in my other car which doesnt have HUD.
All my next cars wil have HUD as this is the first and its brilliant for speed, navigation and warnings.

I booked my 911 in for this map software update next month and they have said it will be 1 hr 30 mins to update.
I dont need a courtesy car as I will just wait.

Too much carbon for me and I have carbon in my 911 but not that much.

Looks like the phone when on the holder will cover the left hand side of the volume button and no volume controls on steering wheel to make the button redunandant.
Would need to see a pic of the phone in situ I think.

Have the prices started to go lower from WBAC or still heading North?
