  1. Replaced:

Plastic coolant distribution pipe (at front of the engine) due to a crack / slow leak.

oil pressure regulator (this needs to be removed to remove above coolant pipe.

front engine mount as this also comes off to change plastic pipe.

pig of a job to do on the driveway on ramps.

I’ll try and find the thread from 911uk. I only took a few photos.
mom terrible when it comes to electronics but was able to follow the write up - made my own voltage divider and ordered a ‘latching’ relay from eBay. Then had to buy the switch panel - I’d say to add the OEM switch cost me an extra £100 in total but having it look ‘factory’ instead of messing with plasticky fobs is so worth it.

here is the thread. I think I have a few PDFs showing the wiring of the latching relay too.

Would love to read a “how to” section about this :)

With photos if you’ve got any! ;)

  4. I’ve always lowered my cars on coil overs, mainly for aesthetics: ( Mk2 golf’s, Lupo GTi, Corrado VR6) but I just couldn’t imagine the boxster being lower… whenever I’d raise a car back up it always felt loads faster and it was so much less wincing going over bumps.

I fixed the remote under the steering column with a bit of double sided tape. Worked perfectly on my 987👍

I retrofitted the OEM control panel under the climate control, you have to build a voltage divider to make the switch light up but now works as the factory sports exhaust.

What drives people to M-tec? Is it the price or the performance? It's funny how most seem to be more picky about tyres than brakes.

For my 3.2 TT any of the OEM brands were crazy money. I daily my TT / use it as a cruiser and don’t expect to make any money on it when I come to sell.

How are you finding the top gear exhaust mate? I think it's gonna be similar to the spyder performance one I got fitted today - Seems pretty loud - even in quiet mode!

Ive got the Spider Valvetronic I really like the closed sound but I rarely use the open - when I fitted mine I just couldn't get the valves to close under vacuum.

Turns out one of the vacuum lines under the intake had come off - maybe you're having the same problem?

  8. I feel your pain. Woke this morning to find foxes have gone absolutely beserk on my dark olive metallic boxster. Deep claw scratches on every panel. It really is unbelievable destruction.
I’ve made a start on making them better but short of a respray I don’t think I’ll get it up to my exacting standards. 😩

I had the same issue after fitting mine, no vac.

I traced the pipe that feeds the solenoid that you need to tap into, you will need to take the engine cover off in the cabin, it goes to a connection on the bottom right hand side (looking directly at the pulleys), mine had sheared off and was just hanging there. I managed to glue the bit that the pipe slides onto back together and everything worked after that.

    This was my exact problem.
rubber connection to the vac pump had perished so I replaced with a short run of silicone hose and put the ‘tekalan’ line into it.
    worked on the button. 👍🏻

  10. Thanks for this - that’s one of the guides I’ve been following and have plumbed it in as shown but it’s not switching.
could I have a potential vacuum leak somewhere further down the line?

Dean from Spyder performance has text me to talk through it following a website enquiry - great customer service. 👍🏻

  11. Hi all,

I’ve just fitted a Spyder Performance valved exhaust to my2005 2.7 boxster.

I’ve got the valves connected as per online sources as there wasn’t instructions with the exhaust.
The valves aren’t pulling vacuum from the changeover valves on the side of the inlet manifold.

The exhaust is always in crazy Loud mode - I’ll probably rarely use this as it is very loud.

anyone done this themselves and got any pointers for a decent vacuum source.
    cheers

  12. I did this job DIY and can easily see how the costs can pile up in terms of labour. Those hose ends expand and get stuck and have to be extracted without damaging plastic parts. It’s a nightmare. I was quoted about 1k to have it done. I would pay that in hindsight.

So today got back home from work and my Bilstein B6 PASM rear struts have finally arrived ( ordered in December!!)

Stripped one out, opened the box and they have sent fronts😡😡

On a positive note the Carnewal 200 cell cat manifolds I’ve bought, the one side I’ve done no bolts sheared, 😇using some sound engineering practises, just hope the other side plays ball🤞

Were you able to buy the manifolds from Carnewal without exchanging your own? I think mine are blowing.
