  1. Just done a bit of a long tour to Norway and managed to cook the brakes, slight judder at speed under braking. Easily done when your hitting 140 on the German autobahn.
had them done a few years back so probably need doing.

    Any recommendations

  2. Fitted the summer wheels and tyres.

Front wheel bolts had been put in after my garage had done the front coffin arms and used a torque gun to 500ft lbs. broke the 19mm socket it looked like locktight on the wheel bolts ?

Checked the tyre pressure on the summers and the one repaired with the nail in was 39psi 🤔 which I assume they make it high so the repair is pushed in, it’s not the first time I’ve had tyres fitted with the incorrect pressure. Kwik fit put 40 psi in when I had them changed last year. I bought a tyre pressure gauge as I thought my foot pump was out.

  3. So I’ve a worn drivers seat which isn’t comfortable so I’m thinking an upgrade second hand.  Several options on eBay but looking if upgrading to 4 way adjustable will need additional electrical connections.
I’ve looked at the wiring diagram and think the connections to the seat at the connector block are the same the additional switching and power is done by the control module in the seat (anyone confirm this ?)

I’ve also read on the 718 forum that seats are basically plug in and play as someone has upgraded there seats without any additional wiring.
Anyone else tried this before I purchase

    Thanks

  4. I’ve had blocked drainage channels which caused a very expensive bill as the ECU under the passenger seat was replaced. Covered under warranty.

Roof jammed half way in Tesco’s car park 😳 new motor and mechanism which was covered under warranty.

Drivers seat is broken, need to source parts

  5. It’s not just Porsche

Audi Cambridge kept us waiting for 45 minutes, got bored left and never got a call back either. Went to Bedford Audi and 100%

Bell and Coalville for my Lotus, sales man didn’t even approach me when waiting and I got the impression I wasn’t going to be looked at seriously so gave up and purchased private.

Mercedes Cambridge “we close at 5” ok shall we go now ….. Purchased from Birmingham Mercedes

Porsche Cambridge “you won’t get a Boxster for £30k”  …. purchased from Sutton Coalfield Porsche

Some sales don’t give a monkeys and others will. If I was spending a decent sum on a car and booked an appointment to view and test the car and for it not to be available I would be emailing the site manager/ sales manager and Porsche GB.

  6. If anyone has driven the roads of East Sussex and Kent they will understand that the roads are a nightmare with nasty pot holes and road surfaces which resemble Roman roads.
No surprise that I think I can hear a ball joint or bush knocking.

Any common suspension issues to start ?

  7. After having a bump in June in which both headlights were replaced I noticed the pattern is very low on the road.

Is the adjuster like the 987 ? Standard lights

    Thanks in advance

  8. Had a bump the other day (pictures on refuges Facebook) noting too serious, no one injured and no airbags deployed.

Car is currently with repair garage and undergoing assessment, I was informed the car my still be written off as it may have hidden damage.

So looking at prices on auto-trader and eBay and I’m shocked, around £30k is the cheapest FFS which is more than I paid 3 years ago 😮

Supply and demand 😀 or is this because the 718 is a four pot ?

  9. My drivers seat had become uncomfortable and when the exhaust was exchanged for a Carnewal system I asked if they could take a look to see what the problem is.

The serpentine spring next to the door has been stretched out of shape and has lost any tension leading to lack of support and listing to one side. This was probably caused by a tech kneeling on it when it was in for repair with water damage.

Has anyone done a spring replacement?
