  1. That's amazing insight. Ok, so after a few days driving it, I can certainly see why people would look for something that makes the car slightly more compliant on the road. It's perfect over smooth-ish tarmac, but it crashes over everything else, and I can see why people get tired of that.

I'll be the guinea pig on this then and will look into getting one and see how it can make any adjustments.  👍

As for the S54, I guess the car is more like the CSL in character, apart from that car had a pretty terrible gearbox at anything other than maximum attack mode.

  2. So, this bad boy turned up last week.....wowzers, what a weapon this thing is. It really feels like a race car that you can drive on the road. The motor is a masterpiece and there are some similarities to the S54 in the Z4MC, in that it can sound like a bag of marbles at lower speeds, but once you get it up to 9k rpm range it's a real event to the senses. Even at 5 years old, it's a car that draws so much positive attention, people taking pictures and coming over to chat about it. It's probably my all-time ultimate sports car, so feel very fortunate to now own one.

The speed at which this thing can take corners is simply unbelievable...the 981 GTS could take them at 50mph, but in this you can do at 70mph easily in the RS (probably way more for a decent driver 🤣)....and the rear tyres being 325's provide a phenomenal level of grip. It's not as easily comfortable to drive fast in like the Boxster, which I think is a good thing,

I don't think it sounds as good as the GTS at most speeds (that really is one of the great sounding porsche cars ever made), but once it gets beyond 5k to 9k it's on another level and is a proper high pitched squeal.

I'm going to semi-daily drive it, which is probably stupid, but f*ck it, whilst I still can you might as well. (I hope the single-mass flywheel doesn't become a pain, as it makes a right old noise in full automatic mode). If you have been thinking of moving to a GT3 after the Boxster, then I'd defintely recommend it.

  3. *Also, to reflect a view on the market for these cars, I had 4 offers from dealers getting within £500 of my asking price and also 4 serious enquiries from private buyers within the first two days.

I've got form for selling appreciating assets in the past at the wrong time (M3 CSL for £24k, Ferrari 355 for £37k), so this will probably be another 🤣

  4. Yep, went to Tony and his lovely partner Jo...! It's always sad to let a car you love go, but genuinely couldn't have gone to a nicer couple!

Pick up the Lava Orange GT3RS tomorrow.....just happy the weather is a fairly sunny and not p*ssing down for those Cup 2 tyres 😐

  5. Yep, it's pretty easy, just give them a good push to click into the clips and you're set.

They make a world of difference in keeping the condensors protected and clean of cr*p....100% recommend them.

  6. My first inclination was to just trade it, but I’d rather it go to someone else who’d love it and I’ll get £1500 more for it which will pay for a set of tyres for the RS. It’ll only be for sale for a week, so anyone wanting it they’ll need to be quick 👍🏻

  7. Yep, it's a beauty....been a brilliant car, so many positive comments and response from all sorts of people. All the little bits on the GTS add up to a really fantastic car.

I'm pretty sure my missus is going to drive me crazy/kill me when this is gone and we have a car with scaffolding in the back and plastic windows as a replacement 🤣

  8. Hi All, As I'm moving on to a GT3 I've listed my 981 GTS for sale on Pistonheads and Autotrader. The car has been really great, a phenomenal machine making an amazing sound, but life is short and I feel like getting into a GT3 whilst I'm still able to. I'll be getting into my new car within 2 weeks and I've been offered a really good trade value on it, so I'm asking a reasonable £46k for it, which makes it the cheapest one for sale. If you're in the market for one then move quickly or it'll be traded in and up for £50k+.

The car has got 14 months of porsche warranty left, new Ps4S, new air con condensors and has the zunsport grills on it.

If anyone needs finance facilities then I have a very good broker I can put you in touch with.

    Thanks

    Nathan

*I couldn't seem to post in the for sale section. Mods, presumably I need to have some more posts?
