Sorted out the dash speakers with "upgrades"... Some pictures to follow.
I installed these speakers... https://www.crutchfield.com/S-TxHrt3P0K5e/p_136C2400X/JL-Audio-C2-400X.html
Did the speaker upgrade recently (although my speakers were a lot cheaper) - huge change in sounds quality and easy to do.
-
Fitted new speakers to replace the original (cr*p) ones - £20 expenditure never sounded so good.
Also, finally got my split rear window replaced with a nice, shiny clear one...car looks much better now!

New Alpine speakers fitted in the dash. Easy job really, it's just the front screws that make it difficult, they're too close to the windscreen!
Lots of swearing later, they're in and they sound much better.
I'm doing mine today, though I bought a Torx Allen key to make screw removal easier.

A welcome day's annual leave and some sun saw the Boxster getting a nice wash followed by cleaning (BH Surfex) and Fabsil'ing the roof.

Drove it to work and now considering when I'll get round to adding a universal front spoiler (underneath).
Sounds interesting, what are you thinking of?

Got my car back after having had new clutch and uprated IMS bearing fitted.
Car is so much nicer to drive now, my last clutch was well and truly on the way out so changing gear is now a pleasure again.
Just for the record my old 14yr/64k IMS bearing was in perfect condition on removal, but I'm still happy I've now got an uprated IMS in the car.

Mine's gone into Rennspeed for new clutch and uprated IMS.

After 14 years my hood plastic window finally cried enough and split. It's now temporarily fixed with Gorilla tape and doesn't look too bad at all.
Apart from that two very nice top down drives; fair to say I love my car

Let us know the damage...
For the clutch and IMS?

Got my car booked in with Ben at Rennspeed to do a clutch change and fit upgraded IMS bearing. He's also going to look at options for tightening up the gear throw (I don't want a short shift kit).
Apart from that the Boxster is now back on daily driver duties as my Focus has had a one way trip to the scrappies (which I'm quite sad about as its one of the best cars I've owned).

Cheers Phil, appreciated those mats don't half slide up over the pedals which makes braking an entirely unpleasant experience
No probs, have mats slide about drove me up the wall - good luck getting some sorted (if you want the eBay ref then pm me).

Just what I need those Velcro retainers - where did you get them from? OPC or a well know auction site?
That well known auction site.... I had an expired listing for them so messaged the guy and he said he had more (user name - anyfinkforme).
I ordered them last night and they turned up hand delivered today - warp speed doesn't cover it!
-
Stereo fitted and my genuine velcro mat retainers have turned up, so no more slidey mat syndrome.

In comparison to fuel filters and air boxes, I've had an easy day with mine although I have been trying to resolve the issue if the wipers not working in the 944 Cab as well....
Partially installed my bargain buy in the Boxster.... I say partially as the arial lead in the Boxster is the standard size where as the new head unit is smaller so an adapter will be needed....
It's the Becker head unit which is the usual Radio and CD of the CDR22 made for Porsche by Becker.... but this is also the Sat Nav version from the Rover 75 and it's a bargain price in comparison to the Porsche branded identical unit
Also partially fitted a new stereo today to replace my CDR-22, but also need an aerial adapter so will be complete tomorrow.

For what its worth I've had a Z4 and hated every minute of it, they're not a patch on a Boxster IMO
Tbh I've driven it a few times and, apart from the truly horrible eps, I don't think it was that bad. It's more mini-GT than sports car and certainly suits those looking for a more relaxed driving experience.
It was driving that that made me decide that I needed an NA engined car again, so it had its uses. Both the Porsche and BMW engines are gorgeous.

Took my dear mother out in it - "ooh, it sounds good and it's much nicer than your father's BMW Z4"....
Apparently dad is now checking Autotrader for 987's.....

Looked at the clouds and decided top down on the way home as usual. Almost made it before the deluge started....
