Cheers @CarlM Theres no immediate rush for it, as and when is fine
I’ve removed the motor, it’s soldered in 4 places as per the photos and held in place by the two circular white studs on the reverse.

Yes I believe it is the motor, I was clearly a little heavy handed! If you would be willing to let it go I don’t mind paying obviously! 😁👍🏼
Happy to let you have it, it seems to have two plastic tabs that push through the PCB and it’s soldered to the board in two places so I’ll need to take it off.

I’ve stripped one of these clusters and taking the PCB’s apart isn’t as bad as getting the dial faces off in my opinion. If it’s the little motor you are after I’ve got one from an 04 cluster, (green, blue & grey plugs) I can let you have.

Unique Porsche in Bolton do it.

Great job 👍

I’d ask the PCGB Boxster Register if it was mine.

Are these face lift grills, why do they look better than the ones on my late 2000?
Yes they are facelift, I fitted the mesh myself.

Ahh detective!
I would politely/bluntly ask on collection “where have the front grilles gone” they were fitted when I viewed it!
It looks great but the 918 Spyder stole it for me😩

How do you know?
I’ve just been looking at in showroom at Bolton OPC whilst waiting to collect some parts😉

yes it did, of course I did not mention that to the dealer 😉
Makes up for the ones I left on my 981GTS, in fact Bolton OPC have the car for sale with them still fitted !
Looks like they’ve removed them from the car now😩

I think the corners need rounding off a bit. Would look good then

The picture doesn't show it well but I have rounded the corners off, perhaps it needs to be a little shorter?

Fitted this today, quite liked the look of the rubber splitter on @Jason986 but the jury's out for the moment?

Fitted GT 2/3 front brake upgraded air ducts, don't think I'll notice any difference but for about £6 it would be rude not to!

Is this the first case of Boxster gender reassignment? ?

Went for a lovely run in the sun to Holcroft Ghyll Lake Windermere for lunch with Mrs M to celebrate our wedding anniversary . Leisurely roof down drive back down the side of the lake, happy days! ?

Went for a bit of a blast locally. First time I've driven the car since I cleaned the throttle body and I have to say it definitely felt more responsive.

I did this to, only a little thing but quite a satisfying improvement!

How did you get on re connecting the air intake hose to the throttle body?
The last time I messed with it on my 986 it was a pig and took two of us to pop it back on! In fairness the pipe was very stiff so perhaps that didn't help ?
Was a bit of a struggle the pipe was stiff. In the end I connected that first and there was enough movement in the intake pipe to pull the throttle body up to the intake distributor. Did you notice any difference? I haven't been for a drive yet but I did feel the throttle seemed a little sharper when blipped but that might just be wishful thinking!

Rain once again kept me indoors, so much for having a week off work to get the garden in to shape!
So I retired to the garage and plugged my new code reader in to the Boxster and ran the diagnostics, pleased to say there were no error codes thrown up.Inspired by this and '101 Projects for your Boxster', I decided to remove and clean the throttle body and plenum.
Removal was a bit tight, but it went back in much easier. Used Wynne's carburettor cleaner which brought the throttle body up a treat. I would have given the MAF sensor a once over but I couldn't get hold of any cleaner locally so that will have to wait for another day.
Ran the diagnostics program again just to make sure I hadn't buggerd anything up, still no errors so either the reader doesn't work or I've put all the bits back in the right place!
