Interesting that some indie will do the work without a subframe drop for a cheaper price but others need to drop subframe for the same job don’t understand why if the result is a successful fix
-
Me too worth £100 fuel bill at least and night in premier inn

Guess there are many perhaps needs be just in case jobs. My pipes were picked up 3 years ago as a red to replace and still not failed. Think l need to ignore some of what my indie suggest even though it’s correct although they did list on my recent major service smelly cabin only to find one of those plastic fish filled sushi sauce leaking in my glove box.

£448 seems very reasonable (from indie) cheapest quote for subframe drop £1150 includes geometry where are you maybe worth the petrol

Hi,
know it’s been covered but 2nd opinion please. Have been told by my indie these need replacing ASAP, phoned around and one indie said if they not leaking and your not doing huge distance than hang on or maybe you could get away with just replacing 2. Best price so far which seems good £875 ( they do not lower sub frame) all in or up to £1150. One indie said pop in and we have a look and suggest to fix or not.
Thoughts please only that same indie 3 years ago said replace ASAP.

Yeh just bought one of those yellow steering locks has a red flashing light too. Was wondering the position of the key doesn’t expose the ignition barrel perhaps this is more difficult to hot wire if they still do that.

Just had my trusty one of my most useful cars stolen off my drive the other night my Jimny luckily they failed to steal my girlfriends jimny too. My worry now is for my boxster 2005 what’s your thoughts on how secure they are with what they came with and what does anybody do to add security to their boxster when kept outside.

Just need to vent my niggle and see if you would be niggled. Took boxster to local Indy for major service all good except the list they printed on the receipt re: issues they found so fair enough front cross over pipes corroded, slight weep from RMS seal few other little bits which lm aware of but here is my niggles - slight damp smell in cabin- car lives outside and totally dry inside as l religious clean drain holes. -sticky heater switches- we all know about them. -horn doesn’t sound correct- it’s loud and sounds like a horn. -sun visor has damage- Even my Key did not escape - key fob has slight lose cover- been like that for years. -Historic dents on AC pipes still function-. Should l be happy they were so thorough. If l were to sell the car one day all that is on the receipt for service and may put a buyer off. Just think it’s a bit over the top.
There my niggle done.

I had this problem about 6 months ago l ordered a new sensor and when l took the original off it was slightly different to the new one. I put the original back on and it’s never happened again perhaps a dirty connection. Give it a go

Thanks that makes sense it happens so quick but thinking back in slow motion l recall lifting throttle and then pressing and power back on. Assume this is only a blip and won’t result in total loss of power.

Thanks Paul had no idea that brake was associated with throttle control. Perhaps worth playing with brake on and bit of throttle. One of those how do you check. Have read about dirty throttle sensor worth a clean l guess.

Cutting out
in 987
Hi all,
any ideas please, boxster cutting out for probably a second or two at very low revs never does it when putting the foot down and at only a few mph. Sometimes on a run never happens. Guess fuel or electrics just not wanting a permanent cut out.

Another MOT no advisories. Annoying on its MOT history one failure for low beam bulb failure other than that full pass house. How many of you have a full pass house no advisories.

Hopefully when fixed dent magician can work wonders they are very slight paint in good order. As said any help in what’s gone wrong there was no warning. Bit of a dampener on the weekend
