Mines a ‘99 but based on that ‘98 price list the original owner splurged over £13.3k in options 😲

Shouldn't need any extra holes. There are two holes in the rear bumper PU that should take plastic expanding nuts for two screws that match up with a pair of the various holes in the back plates of the plate holder. Did on mine anyway.
No holes in my rear bumper. Plate has always been stuck on.

I received the grill badge, single number plate holder and box with registration card. I also got the litre of Classic Motor Oil after the first service. They offered to fit the registration plate holder to the rear of the car but I didn’t want additional holes in the bodywork.
No key ring or magazines.

I’m about to bolt my front struts back into the car, and will need to tighten up the lower arms at an appropriate ride height.
Does anyone know the distance from the centre of the wheel to the centre of the wheel arch, for the front of an M030 equipped 986?
I can check tomorrow.

Boot emblem

As Porsche prices go, I’d never consider the boot badge expensive

I signed up at my OPC in June!!! They did send a lovely metal badge when I asked them for one but nothing further. I have raised with Porsche customer services twice and still nothing.
It really isn’t worth the hassle anymore but I just don’t like being promised something that I don’t receive.

Interesting dilemma, keep miles down for value or enjoy the car... I'd still consider an OE looking unit like the Continental ones to get modern functionality and swap back to the original at show or sale time.
I’ve only had it a couple of years and envisage an average mileage of around 2/3k pa. It will still be low miles for its age but no garage queen.

13k miles on a 23 year old car??!!
Poor thing!
I’m doing my best - 4k miles this year including NC500 (should be NC1000)

Huge investment in a car worth around £5-6k even if all the other mechanical work like suspension, brakes, clutch, RMS, air con condensers, rads, header tank (another £5k all in) have been done.... Keep the original unit to refit for originality in the future and put a less costly, but still good, unit in and bear in mind the original sound system speakers and the whole cabin environment is not an audiophile's dream.
Thanks, however the car is an immaculate 13k mile car so worth a bit more. I think I’ll keep the originality. I won’t be going down the cheap non OEM route however.

Why is it a big decision? Headunit is easily swapped back again if you so wish.
It’s around £2k fitted so not to be taken lightly.
-
Mine is all original although because it has litronics it looks like it’s been updated.
I even renewed the plastic rear window in the summer.
Big decision is whether or not to fit the retro new PSM unit.

Recently seen a 2.5, in Guards Red, low mileage, think it was on Fb being sold by a dealer, from memory around £16K.
Did it sell?

My 2.5 now exempt thanks to this thread but what a carry on to get it changed.
Surely it needs to be a block exemption by Manufacturer/Model not individual car.
-
For curiosity I thought I’d put my car details into the website and see what figure it spat out.
£500 was not exactly what I was expecting for a 13k mile 986 😆

Why's that? I have had a Porsche one before and this one lines up with the oem holes.
Mine didn’t and there is a curve in my front plate which made it way too awkward.

Can you Effing believe it, just got a delivery I was not expecting today! I must have sounded like I mean business in my email 😆....
...probably helped that no one responded for a week because he was off.
Thought it was just one plate surround you got, fantastic, means i'll have a spare!
Good luck sorting it @Photogirl, speak to Michael Elliott - michael.elliott@porschemidsussex.co.uk
Plate surrounds look great until you try to fit them on a 986.

Edinburgh OPC were kind enough to send me a pink one - the only one they had left. It is decent quality.
-
Not today but did the full NC500 in mine a couple of weeks ago. 1,072 miles in total and no issues.

Currently on a trip and the coolant/temperature warning light started flashing slowly shortly after starting the car. It goes off after 5 / 10 mins. Temp gauge is straight up at 80 and coolant level is full.
Any ideas? Sensor/cap/fan?
TIA.

Confusing... The AC pipework goes nowhere near the passenger side other than up in the scuttle where the heat exchanger and desiccator are located and none of it carries water. The long pipes run outside under the floor on the driver's side. Was it a leaking heater matrix?
Not sure tbh - was given info by my specialist. He didnt charge me for the work but made the comparison that the water came from the AC as per cars in hot countries where cars drip water due to AC use. This was water gathering in my footwell.
-
Mine were leaking and the source of the passenger side carpet being soaked.
How soon will my daily driver rust?

I trust the uneven paint in the arch edges is sealant not rust?
