  1. Hi

I have a Cayenne diesel 2013 in addition to my 981. To be honest its great, always hankered after a GTS around the same era though, seems prices are reasonable at the moment, perhaps because of the fuel crisis. On the basis that petrol cannot be the current price forever (!) does anyone have any real world experience of mpg  on one of these?

    Cheers

  2. I've had this for ages.  I had the car in to get the front drivers side wheel re-painted as I kerbed it, turns out the wheel had movement in it and I had the wheel bearing replaced. No rattle now! must of been vibration running through the car.

  3. Well eventually I found the reason, so here it is in case anyone else has this problem.

I had a loose wheel bearing on the drivers front wheel. I only found it when I had the wheel re-sprayed as I kerbed it, the garage noticed there was a slight movement on the wheel. Wheel bearing replaced, no dashboard rattle. Must of been vibration running through the the car. Seems obvious when you know!

  4. Hi

My 981 has an intermittent fault with the rev counter arm. Sometimes the rev counter arms works and sometimes it doesn't. Its either perfect or doesn't move. At the moment I live in Spain, in works in the morning but maybe not in the afternoon. My simple logic says it climatic , when the weather gets hot by the afternoon something triggers the arm not to work. Everything else in the instrument cluster works find. I'm puzzled.

Porsche Centre quote, wait for it, £4K!, to replace the cluster but do admit there could be a sensor or something else feeding into the cluster that may be causing the fault.

    Two Questions:

    1. Has anyone else had this fault and can shed some light on this?

    2. Does anyone know an independent repairer / auto electrician in the South East ( Kent London )who would could take a look at this?

    Cheers everyone!

  5. Thanks for the responses.  The rattle is from each of the vents, passenger and driver on the dash and only when driving. I will have a look at Ricks fix, if you have any further ideas Iborguk will follow them up. Will let you know if Ricks fix works.

    Cheers

  6. Hi,

I have a cracking 981s 2012. There is a really annoying little rattle from the dashboard vents, drives me nuts. The car is in great shape, still tight and drives great but this is really irritating. I'm not mechanically minded so its not an option for me to start mucking around dismantling things but equally I don't want to start an expensive exercise at a Porsche specialist or dealership.

Can I ask if anyone else had the same issue and if so how did they fix it?

    Many thanks
