It's just the condescending BS they are taught to say at every opportunity to ensure they resume themselves as more superior in the conversation. Elitism is everything
I appreciate the intel, thanks!

Not as far as I know. I would bet pretty much all insurance claims assessors would not know what is an OPC option or aftermarket on something like that either.
Also, as they take seconds to remove, in the event of going back tot he OPC for warranty work, just pop them off before you go in.
Thanks for the info.
I appreciate it

I'm sure this has been discussed many times, so apologies that I've not been able to find any directly relevant posts.
I'm looking to get some grilles for the GTS4, but I understand these can be classed as a modification. Has anyone actually had a claim refused on the basis of not declaring these?

This explains a lot.
Not quite the same but sounds like I had similar issue a few weeks back.
A horrible scraping noise as I took her out, so got out, looked under the car, couldn't see anything, checked the discs/calipers to see if I had a stone stuck in them, couldn't see anything. Decided to see if it 'fixed itself' 🥴, still worrisome scraping noise while driving. Pulled over deciding I'm going to have to go back home and call out 'the man'. Pulled out again to drive back home and heard the most horrendous 'thunk' and then she was fine.
I thought it was all the brake dust in the holes in the discs, so got the pressure washer on them and cleared them out. I haven't had the same issue since. But last Sunday I did hose her down and didn't drive more than the few yards to put her back in the garage and I haven't been out in her since....
....I have just dashed out to the garage and taken the handbrake off!

Went out for a hoon at about 08:00 while the roads were quiet; twisty coast road, up over the moors with log straights and gentle bends, a little stretch of dual carriage way to get the toe down, then cross country back home. Out for about 2 hours and it was lovely!
A couple of gals out walking the dogs nipped over to me as I was stopped at a T-junction and told me how lovely they thought the car was, which was nice.
Gave Sherbie a hose down when I got home....now I need to work up the enthusiasm to polish.

Mine arrived today, ordered on 18 Aug. Black set and yellow set, I'm going to do one of each colour on the key so they match my wasp coloured car!
I haven't tried putting them on yet and I'm a bit nervous of doing so, in case I break them, but there's bound to be a You Tube video

HMM....I WANT A METALLIC BLUE SET
There doesn't seem to be a way to select colour...
When you place the order there is a message option to say what colour you want. I also followed up with an email confirming

so my Chinese ebay blades arrived today, ordered 9/8/2022, arrived 8 days later from China
two sets for a total of £16.80!
how do they do it??
They look great, I'm going to get a couple, although I'm seeing the best price at £11.77 a set so I'll 'watch' them for a bit and see if I get a better discount as well. Do you have to leave a message to get the colours you want?

Go to the OPC and suggest 'not of merchantable quality' or 'defective materials/workmanship'. Both under Sale of Goods Act.
My OPC has just got back to me and, in writing, have admitted it's a known fault, so I'm asking for a refund based on your intel.
It'll be interesting to see how this progresses.

Thanks for the tip, I've put them in the basket, but I'll go back in and 'watch' them.

Thanks, that's great info, I have pinged them this morning, when (if) they come back to me I'll use this, I appreciate it.

I just ordered 2 (red & silver) for my key via an ebay seller, I offered £7.00 plus vat for each and they accepted so I now have two set of shells coming from China for a grand total of £16.80!
Wow, what a bargain, being a bit sad I like the idea of being able to change the shell colours

981 is the same, I arsed around painting some, wrapped others then succumbed and just paid £10 ish off ebay....
They last long enough to be replaced every 12 months or so at ebay prices
Thanks for the info, I agree ebay is the way to go.

Think I'm right in saying that's the same shape as the 981 key fob as well ?
It does look the same, from memory, I don't have my 981 anymore
Registration lookup showing as manual rather than auto/pdk
in Insurance / Finance questions

Yup another one with 'that time of year again'.
Last year insured the car (Boxster GTS4) no problem.
This year every time I put the reg in it comes up as a manual rather than an auto or PDK.
I'm having hell and all problems as I obviously do need to provide the reg and when I amend the quote to include the reg it reverts back to manual.
I don't what's changed, but I'm assuming this will involve contacting the DVLA.
As an aside I was insured with Churchill last year, this year the 2020 onwards GTS doesn't even appear in their listings.
