  1. I've done this recently on my 987.1.... it is definitely a bumper off job... but reasonably easy.

I tried x2 different 'meshes' first one being a plastic honeycomb... after much swearing, cutting and scratching my head I gave up as I just couldn't get it to pull in properly at the bottom. There's a fair amount of curvature in both planes on a Boxster (I have a feeling Cayman vents are slightly easier).

I then reverted to a black coated wire mesh which was easier to cut and bend.. .also painted my grille vents black gloss whilst the bumper was off.

I actually found a template which somebody had done.... I will send the link below.

I also have a sheet of plastic honeycomb mesh if anybody wants it for free.

Finally got round to fitting my mesh on the front vents and decided to do the centre section as well, it's a blanking plate as standard. I was going to paint the centre section with glossy black Plastidip after a rub down but thought I'd give the mesh ago as I had plenty left over, what do you think? Cleaned the debris out of the coolant and A/C the rads whilst I had the bumper off and Lanoguard treated under the inner wings (and anything else in sight) whilst I had the liners off. Gave the wheels a good clean then applied PoorBoys wheel sealant followed by TurtleWax HYBRID SOLUTIONS CERAMIC + GRAPHENE PASTE WAX, don't know if both were needed but as I had them on they went. Glad to get the jobs out the way before winter

    Looks great!

Can I ask where you got the mesh from?

  6. So we did this exact job yesterday... we applied heat to the old sensor thread for about 30 seconds and they came out easily.

Connector... if you've got car jacked up get under (head towards the front) and the connector was reasonably easy to find... just trace the wire. There is also a little plastic clip you need to remove use ... put it in the same position on new sensor vs. Old one by laying them side by side.

Had similar on a 987.1 exhaust - not repairable, had that feedback from both Gert (Carnewal) and a rated local welding guy.
