Maybe a little overkill, but, how old are the coil packs and battery??

Yep, cracked subframe sounds a bit ominous to me also, always amazes me how many times tyres come up as an MOT fail, not like they are hidden under plastic covers! - There's some cherished well maintained cars out there, unless it's seriously cheap, I would move on TBH.

Excuse the blatant plug....

As others have said, my money is on sticky/dragging caliper. Doubt if it is ABS related, time will tell, hope it's a straight forward fix.

Holly Fook! - Love to know how you possibly spin that one out, "We buy a non model specific battery from a 3rd party, put a Porsche Label on it, then ask you to drop your trousers!!"

If you're putting in a jumper in place of the relay and it's not running (And fuses being OK), chances are it's the pump, this isn't unheard of for them to run, then not, then free up and run again. Before splashing out on a replacement pump, double check you have 12 V at the pump and the ground connection is good thou.

A quick and easy check of the fuel pump relay/pump - When turning the ignition on (Not trying to start the engine thou) can you hear the whine of an electric motor for a couple seconds, If nothing at all, the pump is not priming the fuel system and hence no go.

Morning All,
Not really a model specic question this, but, any recommendations for paintshops in the MK/Northants/Beds area, just looking to get the side skirts and rear bumper repainted (Usual gravel rash is beginning to bug me)
Thanks

I'm reluctant to use that coasting feature, probably all in my head but I have it engrained that thid type of transmission doesn't like coasting.
The coasting function is the same as the double paddle pull when in D or manual (When stationary), in that it fully disengages the clutch packs, rather than the slight "Drag" engagement position when in D,R or even P), can't see it doing any harm, just undriven gears turning in a bath of oil.

Had the same thing happen the other week, but I'm pretty sure the leaves in question came from the engine bay side. No debris at all in the vent or caught in the mesh in front of the fan....... Strange how it started after I had parked up in a corner car park slot, on top of a pile of leaves that had collected there!
Your going to need a long "Poker" to dislodge the leaves, at least 300mm, the fans are set a long way back.

Thanks Kev, I'll give them a call.

Kev62 - Who did your PDK oil change?, following official guidance mines not due for 4.5years/80K, but I'm not happy to leave it that long (Local indy to me RPM, are virtually the same price as Silverstone OPC!)

Think it's the low pressure fuel pump, you hear the same sound briefly when you switch the ignition on (Assume to prime the hi pressure pump) and remains running when start/stop is activated - either way it's normal.

FYI, when I spoke to the local OPC (Extended Porsche warranty) the routine is to try re flash the PCM firmware to latest revision. If the the PCM reboots itself during this process (Mine seems to be in a 2 Min boot loop) the whole PCM will be toast.....
So if not under warranty, I would keep it away from an OPC, you could end up with a big bill or an unrepairable unit. The idea of cloning the failing drive to an SSD seems like the way forward.
-
The HDD in my PCM has packed up in my 14 plate 981 also, as the OP described, no prior warning, just stopped, tried the reset routine, no go. Fortunately for me, the car is under extended warranty, so is booked in for a week's time.
Wonder if they will attempt to clone the old HDD ( Not worried about the music on the Jukebox), but an up to date version of maps would be nice ??

No issues Re MOT's or extended warranty renewal (Not that that should come as a surprise), I expect however that although the 35 W ballast would operate the 25 W HID, not sure how the lifespan of the bulbs will be effected?
Creak/rattle/knock - could it be the tank?

Have you checked the strut braces?
