Yes, you are correct. Fitted a pair of spin locks earlier this year.
One of your lugs has broken off the mounting bracket. These are available. Not expensive, same for the mounting bolt. It is the spin lock that costs the pennies. 😉🤙🏻
Fantastic, that is what I was hoping. I’ll start searching for a replacement mounting bracket now. Thanks !

*UPDATE*
I have now had some time to spend with the car and removed the hardtop by unbolting the spin lock from the top itself and removing the top. The receptacle in the car that the spinlock locates into appears to spin feely and it appears the part that locks the spinlock in place had broken away.
This is a post of the damaged side, with the red arrow pointing to the area I am referring to along with a picture of the good side for reference. Can anyone advise if what I am saying is correct?

Unbolt the spinlock and just remove the whole lot, then you can see where it's stuck.
Apologies for the delay, have been away working. This sounds like the best option, I presume looking at the link posted earlier - https://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod142227/Hardtop-catch-Porsche-986-Boxster/ - it will just be a case of removing the two bolts holding the spin lock assembly to the hardtop? I am away from home at the moment but presume you can gain access with the roof in situ?

Correct - The locking pin that the red handle moves is not releasing from the car (the handle itself is moving freely)

To be clear: is it stuck at the windscreen edge or at the red handled pin behind the seat?
My apologies, it is stuck at the red handled pin behind the seat

Morning guys, I have tried to search on here for similar problem but to no avail.
My hardtop is not releasing on the passenger side locator pin, I have left wd40 to soak around the latch and where I can reach to the retaining pin but no joy, the latch handle itself moves freely.
I can wiggle the hard top slightly on that side but its not releasing from the pins that fall into the car at all.
Any suggestions? I am reluctant to try to force it at this stage!

Hi Guys, apologies I have tried to search but drawing a blank.
My 986 is in the bodyshop at present and I have been tasked with sourcing replacement bonnet Porsche badge and Black Boxster (non S) boot badge.
The bonnet badge has been glued in place by the previous owner and needs to be replaced (part number 996.559.211.00), can someone tell me if this should come with a gasket and also if it should be just push to fit?
Assuming push to fit, should there be grommets in the bonnet as Ill need to source these also?
Lastly, any recommendations for best place to source these from ? I haven't approached main dealer yet
Many thanks

Thanks, will do!

Thanks guys, I have tried pushing the door hard to no avail. I am going to remove the door card and have a look at the rear of the handle. Thanks for the above link as that will certainly help!

Hi guys
my outside door handle has stopped working completely, the window still drops when it’s attempted so the micro switch is still working but it doesn’t unlatch the door.
Opening from the inside works fine.
I have read this is a known problem but struggling to find any guide or pictures showing how to fix it
can anyone help?
