  1. I got my dad to make a switch for my previous boxster using specs online that I found and sourced all the bits on ebay, I think it cost less than £15 all in to make and I got a local specialist to activate the setting for me whilst doing a service so he didn't charge me for it.

I can have a look if you like to see if I can find the forum article I sent him to build it for me.

If not there is a child seat activation bar for sale on Facebook marketplace in Leicester for £75. Don't know the guy but it popped up on one of the porsche for sale groups I follow

    I used Armorall wipes - Cr*p unfortunately.

Some have reported using Gtechniq C4 successfully.  High cost, but if it works....

I tried the armorall wipes also and one headlight has been fine and the other awful!

I've been looking for restoration kits to sand by hand rather than drill but not found much that's been strongly recommended.

Will give the c4 a look for finishing afterwards though

  3. I replaced everything last year with all of spyders arms, though had to get the xenon levelling arms from porsche and droplinks from autodoc, along with koni yellows and h&r springs.

It's a night and day difference and I've been more than happy with the quality of the spyder performance parts.

  4. For me, I've always bought on condition and with both boxsters I bought from here and you can get an idea of how it's been cared for from the receipts.

Anything under 5 years old I'd probably be more bothered about dealer service history

  5. Had similar issue recently, and turned out to be the fuel sender unit. One of the feeds that connects to the fuel pump had broken off in the tank.

There's a couple of videos online to test if it's the fuel pump relay as Trooper88 suggests, as well as testing for fuel pressure if you have the equipment.

Against all advice I have bought one for £23 with a 5 year warranty.  I might replace it when funds are better.

    8N*****  Isn't that Audi's part numbering system?

Any chance you could share the link or the audi part number, I need to replace mine and was trying to make sure I get the right one!

    Cheers!

  7. I've ordered from autodoc 3 or 4 times since Brexit, all at varying amounts.

VAT is charged at the time of sale so there is no additional charge or customs charges.

The only issue people have is extended wait times and on 2 orders they sat in customs for 7 days.

I had no issues with this but obviously not ideal if you need parts quickly.

  8. Sorry I missed that off, it does have to be coded and they just switch on the child seat setting on piwis.

I got this done when I was getting the car serviced at my local specialist.

  9. I did this in my 986 when I still had it. Bought all the parts to build a switch and housed inside a small box under the passenger seat. Followed diagrams and instructions from, I think, rennlist and pelican parts. All worked perfectly and just velcroed it under the seat so it was neat and tidy.

My dad's an electrician but the instructions all seemed simple enough to follow and I got all of the parts from ebay as it was the easiest place to find the right resistors and the board.

The only slightly awkward bit was the connector from the box to the plug on the seat didn't match perfectly so had to trim the plastic so that they connected fully.
