  1. I’ve had my 987.2S Boxster for 3 years and over the relatively few thousand miles I’ve driven it realised what a capable long distance machine it is.

Confidence-inspiring and corner-loving. It kicks my old M135i - with full Birds kit (remap, Quaife, Bilstein) - into the long grass. Even the relative lack of power - not an issue.

So I’ve got four new PS4s on it, and the tracking done, and taking it down to Switzerland / Italy this summer.

Anyone got any tips for the route down, or favourite places around the Swiss - Italian alps?

  2. Hi JohnnieM,

I have a 2009 987.2S with Bose. I got the headunit replaced with a Kenwood DAB DMX-8019DABS (with Bose adaptor) a couple of years ago by Dynamic Sounds in SW18. This set up cost £850 back then.

I have to say, even though CarPlay, DAB is great etc., the sound is pretty messy. Big bass is still strong but messy and mid-range is woolly / cracks. Whilst it is 'OK', I feel I have spent a lot of money for just CarPlay.

IF i had my chance again, I would rip the whole lot out and install any CarPlay headunit (not top of the range!), a little amp, little sub and a set of decent front component speakers. Might cost the same, but at least your wallet would listen with pride!

I remember at the time researching it for weeks and the thought of ripping out the Bose seemed sacrilegious. Now when I listen to it loud, or with any kind of challenging tune, I wish I had done that. Perhaps also, the speakers are past their best after 12 years.

  3. I got a great deal from kwik fit last week, fully fitted £610 for 4 x Mich PS4s (no PS5s in 265 rear size).

they have a Mich discount code on their website.

  4. All this is great info. What a forum.

Remember the nozzles can be colour-coded as a factory option so keep your eyes peeled for those!

I have a 987.2 with PDLS - I thought they were a gimmick until I tried them, they are really good.
