No, but that is an interesting one.

I wonder if the FM or BT signal overlaps the frequency band the remote uses perhaps.

Do you see the red light flash when the BT unit is plugged in and you try the remote? If not then I would think that there is probably an overlap

I’ve not looked to be honest, but will see what I can find out. I figured it’s a crossover with frequencies somewhere - most probably on the BT side over the FM side.

  2. You don’t have an FM / Bluetooth transmitter / receiver fitted do you?

Since I’ve started using one to stream music from my phone to the Porsche head unit I find the key buttons don’t work when the FM receiver unit is plugged into the cigar lighter. As soon as I unplug it they key buttons start to work…..

  3. Not sure where in the country you are @dave Morgan but if your anywhere near Stafford you’re welcome to come have a go in my 3.2 Tip.

I’d never driven one before, and bought mine ‘blind’, but have to say I absolutely love it.

Auto is perfect for when in traffic or on the motorway, but once in manual mode it’s an absolute menace. I’ve never driven a PDK, but find the shift response in my Tiptronic is more than quick enough. I’m pretty sure it shifts quicker than the usual driver would be able to in a manual having to press and release clutch, select gear etc.

My advice - don’t be put off by Tiptronic. Have a go in one first.

  4. Ordered new spark plug tubes which arrived Thursday.

Set to fitting them today. Jacked car up, removed wheels, removed arch liner, took first coil pack off and…..

can’t find a tube to pull out. Turns out later cars don’t have spark plug tubes!

Actually spent time looking for my oil leak rather than just going off the internet, and it appears to be coming from where the drive shaft is on the drivers side. Looks like a diff seal has possibly failed.

Time to find an independent specialist to sort it for me

  5. Stop reading horror stories of failed IMS bearings, and just buy the car and enjoy it.

Chances of an IMS failure are very low. People make it up to be the be all and end all of Boxster ownership. On a 17ish year old car thats covered 60 - 120k, if it was going to go it more than likely would have by now.

In the interest of balance, I'd like to say... I don't like it - Sorry!

But then again, I drive a Cayman, so what do I know...?

Roof colour is one thing you Cayman owners don’t need to ponder over 🤔😂
