Rubber seal lubricant. Stops door and roof rubbers squeaking and refreshes them so they don't leak air so easily. Gummi Pflege.

Will this fix a rubbing/squeking noise when I put the windows up/down? They rub against the rubber and cause this noise.

Waited several weeks for smoked, sequential LED side indicators to arrive from Aliexpress. Fitted on Monday, smart looking I thought. Spirited drive today after work but got home to find one of the new indicators hanging from wing by wiring. The spring clip is missing and the light is scratched.

Back to OEM tomorrow and hope the paint isn’t scratched.

Any pics? This could be my next mod

    Agree with lone wolf

seems a bit cheap to me, plenty of back street setups out there and even though you see the super car outside doesn’t necessarily mean it’s gonna be good!

id take the hit and go somewhere else as that would bug me

I agree, although will go and see them this week to see what they say. I am not too fussed if they dont fix, as I will likely refurbish them again.. thinking about satin black finish next time.

£280 is pretty average/cheap, you have got to wonder how much effort they are going to put in to them.  Most people aren’t as particular as we are, as long as they are silver and shiny job done but this doesn’t excuse your powder coater.

From a business point of view you have got to get a lot of wheels through at that price to cover overheads and turn a profit. That means less care is taken resulting in quality issues.

There are powder coaters popping up all the time by us, offering crazy cheap deals just to get the work but the results are always the same.

I have always said powder coating alloys is one of those things you really do get what you pay for.

Yep, I guess you are correct, just annoying as it was highly recommended and had a couple of mcLarens when I dropped my old porsche so expected big things

  5. This thread motivated me to finally do this today... I used staples on one end but didn’t have a screwdriver at the other end so did some sewing :)... roof now fixed and lots of thanks to this forum.. but in the process I broke this .... any idea what it is called ? Trip to OPC or ebay to replace now.

I'd have expected it to be smooth, if that wasn't possible then a call during or before process to explain (and manage my expectations) from them would have been appropriate imo

Totally agree I expected it smooth, at least a discussion during the process from them. To be honest it is a small issue for me and annoying I have to drive 20 minutes to go and see the place again. Then if they agree to fix it I will have to book it in and then drop off and collect, it’s all this wasted time that annoys me. A simple call at the time would have been better. Will go and see them tomorrow, so far they have been good at responding at least. Will keep you posted

  7. Thanks I have reached out and this is the response:

Hi, the first picture I can’t make out what it is but I can definitely take a look for you. The second picture is where there is deep corrosion on the wheel, we cover it the best we can but unfortunately we can’t make the wheels brand new. Short of buying brand new wheels I’m afraid we can only work with the condition of the wheel itself. I certainly can take a look to see if there’s anything more I can do though

Not sure I should really expect to see corrosion after they have refurbished them surely?

  8. Just had my wheels refurbished and washed the car for the first time and noticed some anomalies. Do you think this warrants a discussion with the place that did the refurb only 2 weeks back? Or should this be expected?
