Congrats on your new car. I had very similar experience OPC v dealer ended up with perfect 2016 car from dealer who gave me a great price for my from new  04 986 S.

The colour issue................people ask its that GT Silver? Answer...............no its Rhodium Silver so its hard to tell most of the time!

Decided to give it a miss and go for the GT Silver, so a dash across Country and wow!

A beautiful, clean one owner example in GT Silver with full red leather that looked so much better in real life than in the photos, original paint and no stone chips. The Sport Chrono clock just set everything off...I was sold.

Full service history and just been serviced by Porsche Reading.

Brand new N rated Pirellis.

The only thing missing on the spec is DAB radio.

Total documented history including the original build sheet in the owners name.

Then the test drive. Just incredible, the sound track was awesome and I don't think I have ever driven a car that felt so together. Even my wife loved driving it. How much these have come on since my 986 Boxster S.

An additional £1k on my F-Type px over the OPC offer and the deal was done.

Only comments I could make were a slight kerb nick on the nsr wheel, which will be done, tatty looking exhaust tips and some soiling on the silver grey seat belts so some advice on cleaning of these will be sought.

Really happy and collection scheduled for next Wednesday, just before our local PCGB weekend meeting. Do I take the Macan GTS or the Boxster S now🤔

Yep totally agree.

Check out Porsche Perth (Scotland) they have 981 GTS white with full red interior. I had a look when my 2106 981 S was in for MOT. Too much red! Even sales guy who know well said we will have trouble shifting this one even the present lack of late 981s ! Personal taste.........................

Yes we were at Glamis used the Gin Bothy as our base. Good food!

Today I did a YouTube shoot in my 2016 981 S with James Martin (not the chef) for his channel. I think you all know which one ! Porsche club GB R2 region organised the day so big thanks to George and Caitlin. James took my car out for an hour or so with at least 6 cameras attached in various locations on the car. Followed by me doing a few swift drive pasts that he filmed.

James estimates that it should be on YouTube late September.

I have fitted the fronts DIY grills as per daz05 TDS and very happy with the result. Decided to buy Zunsport for rear valance as no real DIY available.They were very difficult to fit and scratched paint. Their reply to my email concerns were "have you watched the YouTube install video"............really!

I had to fit wire ties to secure the grills in case they fall out while driving which kind of defeats the reason why I bought them.

Customer service eventually gave up trying to solve the problem..................so did !

Great car and going by recent 981 prices a good investment. I stumbled on this a few weeks back and thought you might like it, there are a few similarities.

To be honest, the clamp grips the vent-slat well, and there’s an adjustable “leg” that helps support it all, but for me it still leaves 2 issues:- the grips on the vent slat are rubber-coated but it can still swing left/right a fraction, and over rougher surfaces the whole assembly can move upwards and back down (as the vent slats allow it).

I’ve put it into our Macan as my wife is a away this week, and she’s said it has been good in that car. 
I don’t tend to use the mobile screen much in the Boxster anyway, though would have for Waze had this mount worked-out. Ironically we don’t really need it in the Macan, as that has car-play!

Thanks for reply. I dont think I will go a vent-slat job based on your findings. I am the same I rarely use screen when driving. Normally have my wife with me who uses her phone for directions etc etc. Enjoy top down weather! Cheers 

They look OEM almost especially with the matching red stitching.

My 981 S has full black leather so maybe re-trim in black leather is going a bit far but the Alcantara works for sure. I am looking for a phone mount and see you have one on your passenger vent. Any recommendations? 

Another great video Daz, not something I would tackle but well done. Would love to come to Cars and Coffee maybe next time.

My 2016 S does the same. I kind of like it on start up then its cools down on tick over.............bliss

Its worth working with local OPC and building relationship. Just done on my 2016 S the GTS rears lights, LEDS indicators and Alu fuel cap all way cheaper than anyone else. I got 10 % plus plus . Also done glass wind deflector (German) with PORSCHE logo (copied) and Zunsports in painted rear valance.

Think I am done..............or am I ? 

Another great episode with a bit of humour! I don't think I will attempt this mod as I feel my lights are OK on my 2016 S. Look forward to the next one though.

Another great video and this again shows how we can make our cars individual. Keep up the good work look forward to next one!

The lettering is actually on the new German glass wind deflector. I copied Davidbf1.com they are brake decals. I put Silver over White (same as Davidbf1.com )

They come is packs of 3 per colour. I want to keep one set as spare but you are welcome to the other set. Don't think they will work on mesh though.

Or anyone else with glass / perplex wind deflector want a them?I can post them if I have your address. (not sure how we do that?) Newbie.............

As I started this off I felt I had to comment. Mine arrive last week. I ordered the low version and the fit is perfect. When I lay the glass version over the top of original mesh type they are the same size.

I will try and get an image on here at some point. 

Hope this helps! Also no road test feed back as yet but hope to get out for a blast this weekend.
