And you will need heat at some point, probably on the drop link bolts into the upright casting and, if the rear geo hasn't been done regularly, the eccentric bolts on the inboard end of the coffin arms will most likely need cutting out.
I have done all my suspension in the last 12 month and 3 or 4 drop links and all 4 of the eccentric bolts on the rear rear arms all needed cutting.
Recommend Spyder Performance on eBay for coffin arms and front tuning forks I got drop links (along with shocks, bump stops and a few other bits as I was doing a lot more than coffin arms) from Autodoc and the replacement eccentric bolts from my local OPC. Rear tuning forks from Carparts4less TRW (original supplier to Porsche) are about £150.
Done Yesterday the job. Track control arm from TWR.
2 hours to replace it. Freeing off heavily seized fasteners, no fun.
Now drives like a dream 🥰I have also fixed the fast blinking side indicator. It turns out the off side headlight pin is not in place properly. Now working as it should.

Rear passenger side bit squeaky today after a short drive.
Had a look and ball joint is shot. What else to replace when I am going to do the job? -

Fitted the mesh into my newly titanium painted from grilles. Bit of time detailing with tinsnips and shaping it tot eh profile of the grilles, then fixed with a hot glue gun. Temporarily used cable ties to hold the mesh in place whilst gluing. Just need to get the front bumper off and painted and build it up with these in.
Doesn’t look very neat and it seems not exactly well executed. Or is it just the photo/angle?

Finally replaced tubes, plugs and coil packs. Went for a spin and what I thought it was rocker cover leaking it was just the tubes.
Checked arches inside out to check for rust and no sign of it!
build quality impressive. -
Removed spark plugs tubes, easy 10 minutes job. Made my extractor with 5” bolt and washer as suggested by many.
I have started to clean the oil on the rocker cover.

that's bad ass advice! Looked at the procedure to replace oil to the 5 speed box/diff, nothing about the 6box.
Can't locale drain plug without removing the plate. I was wondering if I could unplug the fill plug and pump out the oil instead of opening the drain plug and refill. Anyone done that?

thanks Dave, going to get oil for the rear diff and do that as well over the weekend....

+1 replace the tubes or at least the o-rings on either end. Part number - tube is 996 105 325 52 (or 999 917 788 00), inner o-ring 999 707 343 00 (25.07mm x 2.62mm o-ring), outer o-ring 999 707 215 40 (27.94 x 5.33 o-ring).
Thanks folks. I am 350 quid lighter this evening:)
Waiting delivery of Tubes- coil packs and spark plugs!

good shout mate. Not familiar yet with 986 and Porsche It's new to me the car from last week. Is there any tip to fix this issue or replacing coil pack will fix it? (if leaking from there of course).

What have YOU done to your 986 today ?
