I got mine from GSF for £23 and they had it on the shelf. Might be worth trying them if you wanted one today.

Had the same issues a few weeks ago and the brake light switch sorted.

Well after settling overnight it went back over the max mark 🙄 so I took the plunge and drained a bit out which took it back to max. I think I took out less than 100ml so would have been ok to leave as it was but at least it sorts my OCD out 😂. My OCD can now concentrate on my Beetle seats, but that’s another story!

Yep I always check on my garage so it’s fairly flat. Checked this morning and it’s perfectly on the full mark. I wonder when it had been sitting for a couple of days it drained down enough to make the sensor read over. I think next time I do an oil change I won’t fill to the full mark. I’ll be paranoid with it now 🙄

Since I’ve owned the car I’ve always thought the oil had been overfilled but only very slightly. I’ve now done an oil change and slowly topped it up and got it to settle bang on the max mark. Now it’s been sat a couple of days I’ve re checked the level and now it’s past the max mark. Anyone else have this problem? I’m assuming now I’ve started it up that when it lets me re check it will be perfect again. Should I take some out?

Thanks for the replies, I think I’ll try sea blue then and hope it’s right!

After doing some searching metropole is G10. I can’t find E9 anywhere. Was metropole a 986 colour? Maybe mine is sea or ocean blue, who knows!
-
I’m after ordering some dye to re colour the edge of my drivers seat. I’m unsure what the colour is called. It’s a dark blue interior and the code after my exterior colour code is E9?

Well I’ve now completed the oil and filter change. I used the Mobil 3000 5w40. All went well except for when I started the car to let the oil circulate I caught the accelerator with my work boots and revved the t*ts of it 😡 hopefully no harm done!
After filling up with 7.75 litres the gauge is reading one bar below the maximum. Do people leave it at this or top up slowly to get it to max?
The good news is the filter was ok when I cut it open but on a test drive the no response from the accelerator came back slightly. So I took the opportunity to check out the brake pedal switch. Took it for another drive afterwards and ABS/PASM failure came up. Read the codes and it said stop light switch (which my brother who was the previous owner says used to come up from time to time). Time for a new one me thinks! Also found some redundant wiring from an old phone kit so removed that as well.
All in all a productive day except for the throttle issue!

This post is a bit spooky. I’m also Chris D with a 2005 3.2S but I’m in LE67 😀

Mobile super 3000 seems to be the newest oil and is being recommended by some indies.

I’ll probably got for the 3000 then, Opie have it for a good price
-
I’m not sure I’ve heard 5w40 and 0w40. Opie oils just lists 5w40 with my reg.

I can’t seem to find any online. Opie oils only has Mobil Super 3000. Has it changed its name?

Camskill PS2 235 40 18 £131.35 mail order. Any good?
Always had excellent service/price from them.
That’s a great find, they never came up in my searches. They have Pirelli, Michelin and Bridgestone. I’ll just take the front wheels off and take them in the van to a local fitter 👍🏻
-
I’ve just had a quote of £165 each for Bridgestone and £190 for PS2 from local main dealer. So black circles is looking good.

Thanks for all the replies. I know what you mean about not bothering with N rated but I had a horrible experience with a BMW once with non star rated tyres being fitted. It was only a 1.5 diesel with 16” wheels but was quite scary at motorway speeds with the exact same Michelin tyres as the originals except for the star. My car currently has 4 matched continentals so would ideally like continentals again.
How expensive were the main dealers and were they fitted there? -
Hi everyone, I need to replace the front tyres - size 235/40 ZR18 Y
I’m struggling finding anywhere online that do Porsche N rated ones. Any help appreciated. I’m in Leicestershire if anyone knows of a good local dealer.
Cheers

My 2.7 (987) growled ferociously on startup. I read somewhere that if it's below a certain temp the ECU bungs a big squirt of fuel in to get the cats hot ASAP.
I sort of liked it....
I don't like customised cars. Not even a little bit.
That’s maybe what mine is then

But. Undocumented is “just lift the door handle and it all starts working again “ (at least it doe on a 987)
I’ll try the handle next time instead of manually unlocking

Thanks for all the replies and for clearing it up. Sounds like it has just gone to sleep then. It must be 7 days then not a couple, proves how much I use it!
