What's the mileage on it now? People here say it settles down a bit after 1-2000 miles.

It didn't have many miles on it prior to us going on holiday with the car over the last coupe of weeks down to Southern Germany/Austria so its probably got 1500 + miles on it now and maybe just maybe is a little quieter.

Am wondering if the very tall 7th gear of the PDK is accentuating the problem..

  2. Currently a bit unsure about my new Designtek 🙁 It seems to have a very loud "boominess"/resonance at around 2500 rpm which coincidently is around 70/75 mph on the motorway and a bit less when cruising on an A road (even on the quiet setting). Bit slower or accelerating through it and it goes (or indeed travelling faster as I did on the Autobahn last week) but neither of those are always possible (or wise).

Has anyone else found this to be the case ? Somewhat concerned that I have ruined the driving enjoyment of the car....

Has anyone ever switched back to a standard exhaust for the same or similar reason ? Seems a waste of money but not very happy with it at the moment.

  3. Just got back from the workshop with the Designtek fitted. First impressions very pleased - had a quick blast across the Downs and the "quiet" setting certainly has a deeper note than stock and no sense of boominess. when cruising so far. "Noisy" sounds fantastic as the revs rise and pretty good on the way back down again !

  4. Hi all,

Does anyone know if you have to adjust PDSL headlights in any way in order for them to be legal for use in Europe (ie when driving on the right) ? Of course "normal" headlights need the plastic stick on beam adjusters and LED's don't seem to need anything from what I can tell - but PDSL's ???

  5. Sounds good to me - need to get my car's roof done too. I have a spray on treatment sat waiting in the garage but seems a bit of a faff. This sounds much more straightforward and potentially more effective ?

I've just had a Design Tek fit to my 987 S BE. It has three position switchable valve by remote key fob, road, track and 'LOUD'. The noise on 'Loud' is very addictive and sounds bloody fantastic when you 'givitsum' 😜 but sensible in road mode. Stainless Steel, highly recommended 😉 Design911 do them.

That's good to know as I am planning to get a Designtek exhaust fitted in a few weeks time. Sounds like it will be money well spent..

  7. Swindon OPC have recently quoted me £3000.00 (RPM slightly less) for my 987.2. Seems they don't have all the parts available for 987.2's at least at present. That quote was a couple of hundred more than  when I enquired a year or so ago.

Hence I am pondering the Milltek option instead...

  8. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience of these either Non-resonated or Resonated in terms of noise/any drone etc etc as I am contemplating getting one fitted and I would appreciate any experiences good or bad with them please ?

  9. Thanks chaps and sorry for the rather brief nature of the question as was in panic mode at the time ! In the end I just plugged it in without either "special" mode and a few hours later the car fired up just fine. The cigarette holder socket method worked a treat too which is good to know.

Definitely money well spent from my point of view

Yep sure is ! Had it fitted yesterday and what a great difference it makes - put a real grin on my face !

  11. Perhaps- still in the honeymoon phase myself, only had the car a few weeks but loving it so far. It replaced a 944 Turbo which I had for thirteen years so will be going some to match that but you never know ! Its my fun toy rather than a daily and fits that bill pretty much perfectly so far...

  12. Mine is booked in at Swindon OPC in a coupe of weeks for this - quoted £1,056.

Reading OPC quoted £1,227 so worth checking the different OPC's if any others are in reasonable range.

Personally feel it will be well worth it...
